The only reason I gave it that one star is because I had to at least give one star to post my review. I was excited to find this place when I searched for hibachi online but my experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. The service was terrible. It wasn’t welcoming. My food was stale and when I told them about it they basically told me I was lying and wanted proof so I brought the food that I had just walked away with back so they could see for their self. They were unwilling to remake it. They really ruined my entire love for Japanese food. Absolutely would NOT recommend! If you are looking for good food baby keep riding til you get to Oxford or Southaven. Whichever direction you are going in.

There are several of these Yamato restaurants around the area. I have tried them all and this is the best one. It’s not even close. Restaurant is a little dated but for the price and flavor who cares? Steak hibachi and dragonfly roll are consistently good.

This was my first time at Yamota Sushi and Steakhouse in Batesville and one of the things I always considered is service to whomever you may come in contact with. Service here could use some work… Looking forward to returning to see if there’s improvement.

First, the service was horrible. The food had no taste. I’ve traveled extensively throughout Asia and this food was not even close. In regard to the atmosphere, it felt we were eating in a warehouse rather than a restaurant. Overall, out was not a good experience.

The steak had a very nice sear. The dressing on the salad was fresh and obviously made in house. The tea was brewed fresh on order. Highly recommend this place. I travel extensively and this would be in the top 3 hibachi restaurants that I have been to.
