The service was kind of strange. The service manager told a waitress right in front of us to cool it. The salad dressing was bland with no flavor. The steak & chicken was also bland and somewhat tough. The chick was definitely lacking in flavor/seasoning. The rice was absolutely amazing. Perfect. The prices are very fair but I’d honestly pay a bit more for better meat. We will go back for a cheap meal but that’s about it.

The food for the price is excellent, the best TAKE OUT in Nicholasville. The service inside is not great. The owner/hibachi chef and his wife do more serving than the actual servers. We saw our server to order that was it. The chef brought out the food, we never got checked on or had refills of drinks. There was a spill and the servers never did a thing the back of house came out and noticed it. The owner was very nice when this was brought to his attention. We will be back for the food, as take out

The quality of food is absolutely excellent, I think it’s even better than Asuka which has been a favorite of mine since they opened! The prices are really good. The server we had was very sweet. It’s very comfortable and casual and I can’t wait to return! The only thing I would change is the music, it wasn’t too loud or anything, but it was pop music. I would prefer some chill Japanese music instead! But I highly recommend this restaurant!

We had ordered sushi to go already and it was good. Tonight we called in another to go order and were told it would take 25 min. The order was entered incorrectly when my husband went to pick it up. After 45 min he attempted to ask how much longer it would be and was ignored. He walked outside and I went in to pick up the order. After several minutes of additional rudeness and confusion it was discovered that the order had been thrown in the trash. No apology was offered and it wasn’t offered for it to be made quickly to rectify the situation. We understand that the restaurant is new and had patience with the flustered and rude staff, however, customer service and manners always matter especially when a restaurant is new and hoping to thrive. We are tired of seeing places come and go in Nicholasville and were hoping to support this business. Very disappointing.

Admittedly Azuka in Nicholasville might taste better, but it also costs a lot more. For the price the food is really good. Had a great lunch for less than $8. Included soup, salad, fried rice, meat and veggies, and 4 pieces of a California roll. The service was good. Food came out quickly. I didn’t have to ask for refills as the server always beat me to the request. Atmosphere is better than price of food might suggest.

Wow!!! The food is excellent! Prices are very reasonable. People in Nicholasville will appreciate that. The servers are super friendly as well. I like the place so well I went back the next day with a large group of family members and everyone loved it. My kids cleaned their plates. Every bite! Seriously, Nicholasville. Go try this place!!!

Oh yea. Had the onion soup and scallops and shrimp hibachi combo. Oh my oh my, best Asain food to hit our little town. The portions oh so generous especially considering how much cheaper they are then other Japanese steakhouses. The scallops were phenomenal, the shrimp was delicious but the rice oh my god that stuff was awesome. The wait staff very punctual, immediately seated, refills on drinks before they were needed, friendly and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work Yamato, we will be back often.
