I was not impressed with this place. The service was good, but that was about it. I got the Chicken Parm. The sauce was overcooked, heavy, very salty, and also had some sort of sweet flavor to it – maybe barbecue? Whatever it was, it wasn’t for me. The pasta was okay, but it didn’t mix well with the sauce so there was a lot of plain pasta to be had. The chicken was the best part, and did a good job of masking the shortcomings of the sauce. The atmosphere was okay, and was definitely improved by the live music act that could be heard from the tavern side.

Food here is good and the staff really shines. Everytime my family has eaten here the staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate our rather large parties and been friendly the entire time. My last two dishes here were both tasty and prepared correctly. They kept the bread and water topped off and were quick to notice when we needed anything. Wonderful gem of a restaurant.

We get takeout at least twice a week from the Olde Hitching Post and the food is always very good with generous portions. The staff are wonderful. Last night I got the seafood gumbo special, and it was amazing! Lots of seafood, the sauce was absolutely delicious, and it came with garlic bread on the side. It was really enough for two people. And very reasonable at under $25. I highly recommend this dish! And the lobster roll is consistently excellent with a generous amount of lobster. We love the Olde Hitching Post!

On June 20 we had a large group for a special award night for my mother. Time was short for us as we needed to be at the town hall on time for the award presentation. We got our food quickly and it was delicious as always. The waitress was extremely helpful and professional. I tried something different and got a steak with blue cheese. I will be getting that again. My taste buds were very thankful.

We both had lobster rolls which were wonderful cooked just right probably the tastiest lobster roll we’ve had all season with good portions very filling the wait staff were very nice and prompt our dinner was served before we finished our pre-dinner cocktail we plan on going again.

Went for dinner 4/8/2023 Ordered Maple meatloaf special and the braised short ribs. The portion of meatloaf was disgraceful, one half piece , looked like part of it was missing and it was paper thin, a total rip off, the short rib while tasty, the portion was lacking in size and not worth the price being charged. Have been here several times but this time was a big disappointment

I rarely review and usually positively but I was here the other night and this yippy dog was roaming the restaurant while people ate. I truly love dogs but I have to draw the line as someone who has had to go through servsafe and worked in the industry myself. This is not how business should be conducted . Clearly the owner has no respect for her establishment or the patrons.

The prices did not reflect prices.. if I pay 28.00 for fried whole clams, I expect them to be fresh.. not freshly thawed. The ceiling tiles were sagging and stained. I was not impressed.
