From the moment you arrive, it feels as if you have stepped backwards into 18th Century New England. Our colonial era Tavern catered to the Vermont Green Mountain Boys and the politically influential folk before, during, and after Vermont became a state. The Tavern was where the elite met to drink, eat and sleep. The atmosphere at Ye Olde Tavern is one of simple elegance as befitting statesmen and the gentry who often dined and socialized here.

We really really enjoyed this restaurant. My outlaws shared a prime rib. There was a $9 charge, but they received everything I did. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. There were quite a few vegetarian options as well. The drinks were delicious. The Mary Pickford was to die for! Our waitress, Tiffany, was amazing. Very attentive and accomodating. I wish this place was closer. I’d definitely be a regular!

Totally historical. From the windows, to the floor! This place is truly antique with history that you can read about. We got the best prime rib and enjoyed every bite. The lobster mac and cheese was the best we have had. The service was great and there is good parking. The location is walking distance from shopping and treats. We really loved this place and we will go back!!

We went for my dads birthday dinner a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is charming, I love historical buildings, and reading the history of the location in the menu made it more interesting. The food is 5 stars! The service is great. Timely and friendly. She made great recommendations but was not pushy. We had the grill lobster tail appetizer, the lobster mac&cheese appetizer, the baked brie, and the duck entree with blackberry demi glaze. It was all outstanding! The prices are on the high end and not in our budget for an every night out, but I would absolutely recommend it to anyone if you can.

Great dining experience in Manchester! Delicious food, historic atmosphere, wonder waitress and staff that was accommodating and attentive to us. We got the roasted turkey, it was very generous portions, and just like Thanksgiving! We also got the pot roast and it was tender and smothered in a rich gravy perfectly paired with mash potatoes. All meals came with cranberry fritters with maple butter (so good), fresh wheat rolls and salad.

Love this place. The ambiance is wonderful. It is like you are eating in an 1800s tavern. Great place, highly recommend! A little pricey however you do get cranberry fritters, bread and a salad with all entrees which makes the price worth it! I would rate this the BEST place in Manchester to eat a nice traditional New England dinner as it checks all the boxes!

Wow! So much history at this place. We were greet very kindly upon arrival and was seated immediately. The restaurant was just about to be at full capacity. Our server, Larissa, introduced herself and told us about the daily specials. After we ordered, she got the food out for us at a good pace. As soon as we were done with he appetizers, the salad came out and then the meal. We had the New York, Applesider and cranberry chicken, calf liver and chicken masala. All were delicious. Don’t forget about the cranberry fritter. Service was excellent and food was great.

This is a must go to restaurant if you are in Manchester vermont. The duck is out of this world. I have never had a more succulent duck the skin was crispy and it was absolutely fantastic. The lobster bisque was perfectly done not too rich and it was incredible. The desserts are very well done and unique. The prime rib was cooked perfectly the atmosphere is amazing and the old house that the restaurant is in is very unique. This is a great restaurant in Manchester Vermont it definitely should be on your list

We had a lovely dining experience that almost didn’t happen. We are from NY and went to Vermont for the day. It was a lovely day for a drive and leaf peeping. We had a late breakfast. but we were hungry by 3:30. We looked for a place to eat. We found the Ye Old Tavern which opened at 4:30. We killed some time and were in their parking lot by 10 after 4:00. We waited around until about 4:25 and then walked to the door. The door was still locked. There was a couple ahead of us and more people lined up behind us. At 4:30 the doors opened and we went in. Of course, they asked if we had a reservation and we didn’t. She asked if we could be done by 6:00. We said YES! She said she only had space for one walk-in.
