Layout and atmosphere is of an authentic local Chinese canteens I visited during my expat years in Asia; ; Love the old fashioned ceiling fans, fluorescent tube lights, and painting that were chintzy but they went quite well with the decor. My vegetarian food was simple and delicately flavored; the service was friendly.

The family was exploring SF Chinatown and ended up choosing Yee’s Restaurant for dinner. The menu was your typical HK style Chinese Restaurants, price was average compared to the other restaurants in the area. The server was nice and accommodating with our toddlers. The food tasted great but it was very greasy (lots of oil left on the empty plates). They only accept Cash as far as I know.

We stopped by today for lunch with friends from our walk group. At first we didn’t think we’d be able to get in since it’s so busy, but we waited a few minutes and things opened up. The food is good and plentiful. Prices are very reasonalbe.

I know I cannot expect good service at a Chinese restaurant but the gentleman who was serving could not figure out a way to get roasted duck over fried rice because… kitchen is the kitchen and the roasted meats are at the meat counter and they cannot work together. This is the most inflexible Chinese restaurant I’ve ever ordered from. Food was sufficient but the atmosphere was nothing to write home about, actually pretty busy and the restaurant looks like it’s been around for at least half a century with not much cleaning. Their budget meals aren’t bad but I think they can do much better when there’s lots of competition nearby.

This might be the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. I went here and was immensely satisfied with my experience. I walked in here and was seated right away at a table for two near the kitchen. It was a little busy when I got here, but most of the crowd cleared out while I was waiting for my food. Since it was busy when I got here, it took a few minutes to be given a menu. This restaurant has a large menu, with things like noodles, duck, and pigeon. I came here because I wanted to try one of the ducks that was hanging in the restaurant’s front window. However, I ended up getting the roast pigeon instead because I wanted to give pigeon a try. A waiter walked up to me and directly asked me what I wanted to order, not asking how my day was going or if there was anything I wanted to ask him about, which was awesome because I prefer this type of service. While I was waiting for my roast pigeon, my waiter gave me a complementary teapot and two cups since I was with another person. The tea tasted pretty good, but it was hot so I didn’t drink it until it cooled down. After waiting for a moderate amount of time my food came. The person I was with got some noodles for $9, and the bowl they were in was large enough to feed two people. My pigeon cost $13, and it was an entire pigeon, bones and head still intact. It tasted great and it had a nice amount of sauce. While I was eating it the skin peeled away from the meat, which was surprisingly tasty. I used a fork to break the pigeon’s head, which still had its brain and eyeballs inside. The brain was actually pretty tasty, but I didn’t like the eyeballs that much because they had the same texture as gummy bears, which I don’t like that much. This pigeon was kind of large, but I finished the entire thing because it was that good. Once I was done, I left the restaurant, immensely satisfied with my experience. I gave this restaurant five stars because it has amazing food at a reasonable price for San Francisco, and I received great service.

Good roast meats here, my plate was crammed with meat and rice. It’s a slight case of quantity over quality but I still enjoyed it

The wonton noodles were soggy and the the soup tasteless… I ate less than half and cannot go on anymore (an I am not a picky eater). The iced milk tea was diluted. The waiter was hovering around, most probably waiting for the tip.

Worst experience. Only duck rice at average, the rest food no taste at all. Basically my friend was doing mini cooking on table by adding salt and pepper accordingly to taste. Food not hot at all.

This is my family’s favorite restaurant in Chinatown for Asian comfort food. We come here every time we visit SF. Definitely try the duck egg noodle soup. If you like thousand year old egg, they have that in porridge with roast pork chunks, its delicious. My sister had the roast pork rice plate and said it was good. We love getting the 3 item special for $24.95 because the portions are big and we love taking home leftovers. Over the weekend, I recently tried their soy sauce ginger steamed chicken and it was the best I ever tasted! The service is good. There are a lot of older folks in there or families sharing meals. It’s not a fancy place but it kind of reminds me of an old American diner. You know the kind of place you go to that just feels cozy, familiar and the food/menu is just consistently good and the same each time? Like that!

Poor taste. The wonton noodle is not fully cooked and there are still noodle lumps in the soup. No meat in roasted duck and very bony. Roasted pork is marginally ok. Far below Cantonese style BBQ standard.
