Yen Ching was one of the first places I tried after moving to the city, and they have some of the best Chinese food. The portions are huge, and everything tasted much better than your typical takeout. The service was also great, and when we couldn’t finish our food, our server packaged everything for us into little to-go boxes. They’re right across from the mall, and I would highly recommend stopping by instead of trying to wait in line at a food court. It’s well worth the walk across the street.

Legitimately good Chinese cuisine. Yen Ching has been a neighborhood staple of what Chinese SHOULD taste like. The interior itself is somewhat dated but nowhere close to falling apart. Parking is not optimal, but a small price to pay for great eats. The prices are on the moderate side, I wouldn’t put the price points at expensive, but this isn’t the cheapest place to feed a family of 5. Overall, the service and food are excellent. You will not be disappointed with your order.

Completely horrible. Extremely slow service, and the food is surprisingly disgusting. How can you go wrong with orange chicken being a Chinese restaurant? The coke tasted like it was from a can and it wasn’t cold. The prices were insane. One order of chicken, noodles, and fried rice for $70!!!!! Had to force ourselves to eat it because we didn’t want to waste our money. Noodles had a bitter taste and when we asked the lady if there was orange chicken, she said we can substitute “orange beef” for orange chicken. When the supposed orange chicken arrived, not only was it not orange, it tasted nothing like the sort. Please take my word when you read this and never dine at this place.

We ordered the BBQ spareribs, Yen Ching chicken and Red Pepper Fish. The dinning room was nice, the service was good as well. They don’t have many choices for drink, and the food is kinda pricey comparing with other Chinese restaurants. However, the chicken was over fried, so it was too dry and hard. It should be better. Hope they will put more vegetables into dishes.

On March 3rd, we decided to go to dinner at Yen Ching Restaurant in Brentwood, MO. We ordered our food, and was brought out our two appetizers. After receiving our appetizers, our 8 year old daughter fell out of her chair and proceeded to have a seizure. The servers asked if they should call 911, and tried to assist. However, during the chaos and scary feeling of trying to take care of our daughter they still insisted on bringing us our check. My husband and our 2 other daughters were rushing our daughter to the car so we can go to the ER, while I’m being asked to pay our bill of $38 for the appetizers. Instead of just telling us to go and take care of our daughter who was obviously in distress the host was more concerned about me paying our bill. We were not expecting a free meal, but we just feel that we shouldn’t have had to waste time paying for appetizers while we were scared to death and concerned for our child. I believe most business owners in that situation would have told us to take care of our child, and worry about paying the bill later. We are the type of people who would have made sure to call later to take care of what we owed. It was very disheartening that we didn’t feel that our child’s life and health was more important to them than a $38 check. We want the community to know the type of establishment that Yen Ching is, and we wanted to express how disgusted we are with their actions. Especially finding out our daughter had to have emergency brain surgery for a tumor.

Absolutely heartless!! A guest’s daughter had a life threatening seizure and all they cared about while the ambulance was there was to get the $38 bill paid. Do not patronize this establishment!!!

We were disappointed with the quality and taste of food. Sweet and sour chicken looked like it was chicken nuggets with a jelly like sweet sauce poured over it. Lo Mein and crab ran goons were disappointing too. Limited drink options.

I will never eat at this establishment. This company shows no compassion for others especially in an emergency situation. Heartless staff members who are not concerned about a child’s health condition. Do not eat here!

My friends daughter was having a seizure and instead of calling the paramedics they were hounding them for a $30 check. Shows how much they care about the patrons. Will never eat there.

They brought hot tea out right away, and they have all of our favorite dishes. The food was terrific and came in large portions, so we all left very full. My kids are already talking about returning on our next trip.
