The food was amazing however the service was terrible. We’ve been to Yumi before and had wonderful service but this time around we weren’t so lucky. It was my husband birthday, we had a party of 10. As soon as we sit and was handed the menu, the server was ready to take our drink orders, less than 10 minutes they were ready to take our food order. It felt like were being rushed. Anyway we make it clear that it was my husband birthday and we would like it to be special. At no time did the cook interacted with us. We try to ask him questions to lighten the mood but nothing works. All we could do was just enjoy the interaction on the other table because that cook was amazing and everyone at the other table was having so much fun. No one at our table finish their meal, we just wanted to leave so we asked for containers packed up the food and they brought us the bill. They have the nerve to add almost $100 for service fee/tip. My husband refused to pay the tip amount. Sorry Yumi, the food was good but the service was poor.

Food was not appetizing.. I ordered chicken and steak and it was bland. The steak was cut into tiny pieces and were probably boiled before stir fried because the pieces were tough. The chicken was also cut into tiny pieces. I ordered takeout but maybe there is better food if you’re dining but my overall experience was bad with their takeout food, especially for the $$

I’m Not Gonna Lie I Used To Live By This Restaurant But Tonight Was Really A Different Experience. I’ve Never Felt So Disrespected In My Life For Real. The Cook Michael Literally Acknowledged Everyone Except Me And My Man Who Were The Only Ones Of African American Ethnicity Not Even To Play The Race Card. He Not Only Randomly Told Me I Can Get Up And Leave If I Wanted To For Not Having A Smile On My Face But My Man’s Food Dropped On The Table As He Was Being Served And He Picked It Up Off The Table And Put It On His Plate STILL ! Then Purposely Gave Us The Least Amount Of Food And Said At The End Of The Serving Only Certain People Deserve Respect. They’ll Never Get My Money Again That’s For Sure !

The food is amazing but the service upu receive on the walk in isn’t. They are so rude! The older guy at the bar was nasty when asked about the seating time after waiting an hour and seeing that other families whom were bigger than ours got sat before us. It’s graduation season, they needed someone who is willing to communicate with the customers and someone who is patient as well. They don’t even have a wait list. They just respond with “I’m busy , we’re busy , just wait if not i don’t know what to tell you” … we just wanted to take our kids to eat for graduation day and it’s honestly a bad experience. They do not work well under pressure or when it’s busy. The food is great and the chefs are awesome but the front of the house is just nasty!!!!

I went there last week, ate filet mignon with lobster tail and fried rice. My friend had the triple combo with steak, chicken and shrimp, she also ordered scallops. Within 30 mins of leaving, we were both SICK!!! Like sick!!!!!! The next day I called and explained the situation. The cook must have been new because all the food was cooked and seasoned the same with EXTRA sauce and garlic, and the seafood was overcooked but it’s ok because we all have days, what wasn’t okay was us getting sick and when I told the lady who picked up the phone that, she told me that me and my friend must have been sick before, which wasn’t the case. It wasn’t until the food was out my stomach that I began to feel better. Needless to say, it was the 2nd time and the last time I go there. $125 to throw up ♀️

I was not too impressed. The food was not as tasteful as the Hibachi in City Island and the chef was not as humorous or interactive. He put shrimp in my son’s plate and I told him he is allergic he can’t have that on his plate, yet he made no effort to remedy the situation or remove the shell fish. I will never go again.
