I visited when they first opened and Jennifer was my waitress who is a dear friend from yoga class. The sushi roll was excellent and the sake was delicious. I enjoyed tge experience and will be back when I can get a babysitter.

In typical American fashion, we showed up last minute, unannounced as a group of 4 and asked for a table. They went above and beyond to get us a seat, ensuring they had enough rice for us, and let us take our time ordering and thoroughly enjoying our meal down to the last detail. We are very grateful for their patience and generosity. We fully intend to revisit, this time with a reservation! 😉

My daughter and I had a truly magical experience at Yumiko Sushi. Not only is every detail designed to be authentic Japanese, the Japanese-American proprietor could not be friendlier. His enthusiasm for all things Japanese even inspired us to order Japanese toothpaste from Amazon after we left! For the first time ever, we ate sushi with our hands and by placing our full faith in the chef, eating whatever he sent us. From the hot oshibori and ginger tea to the end, it was pure joy. The chef and wait staff were also competent and friendly. Our only regret is that it will be now be difficult to eat at lesser sushi establishments.

We had a completely different experience. I agree he is enthusiastic but the service was abysmal. We explained we were there two hours before a show and finally had to ask for our dinner to go! They were not busy so no excuse there. They do not seem to have hired professional wait staff. All the hoop la about no waste, no glassware, a disposable plate and then they give us our rather expensive dinner in plastic containers. Totally disappointed. The food was fine, at best.

If I could give zero stars I would. I can’t speak as to how the food. When I and the other 2 guests in my party showed up for our reservations the restaurant was closed! Being utterly confused, we called Jennifer who is the reservation coordinator. I stated that we were outside the restaurant and had standing reservations. She stated she texted me on Sunday saying they were having HVAC problems. I assured her I never got a text. We asked which number did she text, well it was the wrong number! That being said, if you didn’t get a response , why would you not follow up with a phone call or search for the correct number?!?! I have text communications with this person and have left voicemails setting up this reservation. She then proceeded come up with other reasons as to why she didn’t follow up. This is no way to run a business. I will never go to such a poorly managed restaurant, no matter how amazing the sushi may be. I hope in the future they get their act together.
