My 2 Item Combination Plate, with a chile relleno, birria taco, rice & beans, was tasty. The large fresh Pasilla chile had a light egg-coated covering, & was filled with a ridiculous amount of cheese. The Relleno was topped with a bright red & tasty sauce. The Birria Taco was pretty good, as well. The Z South chefs weren’t at all skimpy with the meat inside. This taco was served dry, with slow-cooked beef, onions & cilantro, packed in a fresh, soft corn tortilla. A mini metal bowl of Birria Consome rested on the plate, & when I poured some liberally into the taco, it dumped out, like multiple mini-Birria waterfalls, during each bite. Good thing their cloth napkin was absorbent…Yeesh!

Really cute restaurant. Very small so there can be a substantial wait for a table at peak times. Servers were relatively friendly. Food was good overall. Chips were way too salty. Enchilada was great, tamale was a bit dry. Prices excellent!

Delicious food and friendly wait staff. We had Javier who was awesome! Bottomless chips and salsa! (Woohoo!) We got the Calamari which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The taco salad with Carne Asada was a big portion and also delicious! The tacos pictured were the el pastor and short rib, both were incredible and packed full of meat! Can’t wait to come back here!

Homemade chips and salsa is excellent. Had Chile relleno, rolled tacos and guacamole. Everything was excellent. Had no drinks, happy hour prices and total was $24.00 before tax and tip.

Went yesterday, it is a soft opening. Drinks are yummy, and we had the Calamari , which was excellent by the way. From my understanding the menu will expand after about a month.

We really enjoyed our meal and service. We ate on the patio, but super happy our server turned on the heat warmers for us, since it was night and getting cold. We were very comfortable and our food stayed warm. All 4 of us were very pleased with what we ordered. Two ordered the fajitas, and I had tacos, and also the Brussel sprouts were fabulous…even made them with olive oil for me because I can’t have soy or corn of any kind (that are in vegetable oil).

One of my son and my most favorite places to go. Their appetizers are amazing- definitely the poke tostadas. The ceviche, the Aguachile- again incredible! Very different from Z Cafe. Definitely worth trying. Yummy!

Great Carne Asada plate. In my book, the measure of a good Mexican restaurant is how well they do on Carne Asada. Z South passed with flying colors. Nice tender cut grilled to perfection. Only was on the salty side, but that balanced out if combining with the rest of the plate.

If you’re OK with paying for what you read on the menu and not what you get on your plate or are ok with being disappointed with what’s in front of you then you’ll love this place. Not worth the hype. Basic food with bad service. Seemed like nobody gave a damn. Especially the waitress ohhhhhhhhhh yeah guacamole…. Psssh
