This place is a gem! I ordered a brisket sandwich and my hubby got the pulled pork sandwich, came with cold slaw and we ordered bake beans and potato salad. Everything was mouthwatering and delicious, meat melts right in your mouth, flavors were amazing!! Service was friendly and welcoming.

If you’re seeing a review other than 5 stars, it’s because the reviewer didn’t try the BBQ Sundae with double brisket (see photo). I’ve gone back to Z&Ls two days straight. Got the Sundae with brisket and pulled pork on day 1. I’d give that a 9.5. Then on day 2, ordered the Sundae with double brisket. Solid 9.99. I take off .01 because it came in a plastic cup. But, ohhh, that is one of the best tasting meals I’ve had in a very long time…and I eat well most days.

I have lived in the area for a long time and never been. Their hours are not so convenient to get to them in time for say, the dinner hour after work, but they are so popular that some days they are even out of food by then. I will say that their brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken are out of this world, good! Their sides, BBQ beans, slaw, mac & cheese, and BBQ sauces are great. Very friendly and informative gents working the counter. They double checked everything before we left and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. Great place to visit for food! Their local Always Avery’s Sodas are also fantastic and not over carbonated. Highly recommend!

We were going to be in the area today so a friend suggested we stop here. I’m glad they did! We had the ribs, pork belly burnt ends, cheese and garlic sausage, Mac and cheese and corn bread. The ribs were perfectly fall off the bone with the sauce caramelized, the ends were very tasty, the sausage had a good amount of cheese and chunks of garlic. I am not always a mac and cheese fan, but I definitely am tempted to grab more to go. We will definitely stop here again. We may even make a trip just for it.

Dang. This place does it right. I’d give 6 stars if I could. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich lunch special with coleslaw and a drink for $13.99. Not only was the pulled chicken perfectly cooked and delicious, but the price was great and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and I couldn’t believe the speed. The service was honestly faster than any fast food restaurant. The place was also very clean and well organized. Looking forward to coming back for lunch and dinner!

So glad there is a BBQ place close to where I work. Spoke with the owner last week for a while about how he spend many hours developing the perfect cornbread and mac and cheese. So obviously I had to get both today. I loved the cornbread it was soft, had some sweetness to it also and not dry at all, the mac and cheese was tasty and very very flavorful it just was a little dry to me, maybe if it was a little more runny or gooey it would be perfect for me.For meats I got brisket and pulled pork which were both great! The brisket had a nice peppery flavor with a great smoke ring on the edges and the pulled pork was not dry or to wet,both highly recommended.

First time here. Ordered a rack of St Louis ribs – excellent taste, they come naked with BBQ sauce on the side, meatiest ribs I’ve had – and a pound of smoked brisket – tender, flavorful.
