I usually don’t give bad reviews, but I love Mexican, and this one just wasn’t what I hoped for. The service was egh. We got there at 253, and we’re told we had to wait for happy hour at 3 if we wanted to look at the happy hour menu. There was a bigger selection of food than lunch, but it was still not impressive. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas, and they were very bland. The food was cooked, wonderful the absence of seasoning made it very unenjoyable. I got the pork burrito, which was only pork stuffed into a tortilla with pork, which again was cooked to the texture and moisture but absolutely no flavor there. The black beans were very flavorful, yet the rice was also bland almost out of a box. The atmosphere was wonderful with a nice little bar and not in a bad location. Unfortunately, will not partake again.

We were not impressed at all. Length of time we waited for food to come out was normal. However the food had no flavor definitely not authentic “Mexican” food. Portions of rice were extremely small not worth what you pay for. Drinks were not good. We weren’t even asked, how was our food????

His food and drinks are always prepared very well. My wife had a spicy pineapple flounder which was a special and very tasty and the fish was fresh. I went with a standard chicken dish which was top notch. Our drinks were also great. Been going to his restaurants for over 20 years and will continue to do so. Pride is in every dish

Well I think I made the chef upset. Cause the fresh on the spot made salsa was all onions and cilantro, and I said it was very very sweet tasting and how I thought it might have been a little bit more spicy. Well…. when I ordered the special for the night which was the spicy chicken burrito…. it was so unbelievably spicy I couldn’t eat half of it. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor of it was amazing… But the heat was just too much, the food up here is not spicy at all in CT so I feel like he did it on purpose because maybe I hurt his feelings or something about the salsa.

The atmosphere was great. Service superb! We waited outside because apparently we didn’t read the sign correctly. The bar area was open at noon. It has fireplace, a little cozier and warmer. We were going to sit in the bright, beautiful dining area. The waitress suggested the specials were not available in that area. The food is amazing. Presentation was perfect in my opinion, texture just right and portions matched the prices. The flavor is nothing I have eaten. Ever. I may be sheltered but the spices are done by a chef for sure. My appetite is not great so I shared with my dinner portion with my friend. She got a special. Turned out very well! No doggy bag. Thank you! We will be back.

Bar side has the better atmosphere, they should centralize the bar and make the entire restaurant in that theme. The Tequila selection is huge, the paloma is fantastic and the guacamole is great
