This place was all around terrible. We were seated in a broken booth with a hole in the table. That was our first clue we had made the wrong dining decision. We ordered drinks… My martini was poorly made and tasted like olive juice with a little vodka in it. We ordered appetizers, Pork Belly Bao Buns. They were awful. The pickled vegetables tasted like sour, rotten food. We couldn’t finish them. The sushi options were almost all a fusion of southern fried and Japanese, so if you’re looking for standard sushi, this is not the place. Also, the prices were incredibly high, especially for the broken down atmosphere and terrible food. I’ve been to fancy sushi restaurants with lower prices than this.

We got our food to go from Zen the last two days/nights. I ate here once when they first opened and enjoyed it but it was always crowded when I tried again so I hadn’t been back until this week and I am hooked now. Your MLK roll and tempura roll are out of this world. Oh and I almost forgot how good the salad with ginger dressing was! I will be eating here so much more now.

Placed a pick up order yesterday 7/27/2023. No complaints about the food, but the service received from Kelsie H was horrible! She was rude taking my order over the phone. She misspoke the balance quoting it much higher than it was supposed to be. Mistakes happen, that’s fine. Now what’s not fine is her tone and bad attitude when I called back to verify the correctness of the order and amount. She spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing and annoying her in some way. When we picked up the order, she rudely slid the chopsticks across the counter after we requested them. I was also charged for all of the sauces for my meals, when at least 1 sauce is usually complimentary with each meal. Everyone has bad days, but when at work, please conduct yourself accordingly…disappointing to say the least

I don’t know how or why this place has a good rating. The food was awful, the sushi rice was mush and not seasoned properly. They messed up one part of our order because the “chef” took liberties with how the roll was prepared. Our waitress even said, “It’s not supposed to come that way.” Speaking of the waitress, she was sweet, but we had to go over to her about getting our order fixed because she was standing there talking with the other waitresses. She also didn’t ask if I wanted sushi or sashimi for something I ordered, so she did it as sashimi. I asked for a bowl of sushi rice and received more mushy, weirdly seasoned rice that I was then charged $6.00 for!!! Our table had holes in it, we left with food stuck to the bottoms of our shoes and the entire place is just dirty and run down. Not at all recommended!

I have always loved Zen, but this last time we went was absolutely great. The food was literally perfect, the service was great. Everything was well worth it. I moved away and been craving it, and when I visited town, they did not disappoint!! Can’t wait to return. The omg roll is exactly what it says, OMG!! The steak hibachi melted in your mouth. And the tempura roll was perfect as always!!!

Most likely will not be returning. The food was good but the feel I once had coming here is gone. The service was just ok. They do social distancing with sitting arrangements which is very nice. The steak was cooked to perfection and the veggies and rice were on point. I wish they had more booths and more staff so the experience would be one to remember.
