Amazing atmosphere, great food, and even better service! Don’t expect food fast, but expect food made with love that is delicious!! We were on the way back to Colorado and needed to grab breakfast and gas. There’s. BP across I-70 and this GEM on the other side. Don’t let the exterior fool you nor stop you from getting a homemade meal. They have a dining area if you want to eat in or offer to go. They have non-alcoholic drinks for purchase as well. Come support this local business!

The lady that took our order was courteous and we worked through the language barrier with ease. However while waiting for the food the flies in the building wouldn’t leave me alone. We took our food to go and at home we found the biscuit in the gravy couldn’t be cut with a steak knife it was so hard. The burrito was average. The only thing that was actually pretty good was the package my girlfriend had ordered.

This place offers great Mexican food. I had a large bowl of Menudo. The flavors were on point. The customer service is friendly and fast. Also try the coke from Mexico. Try the house plate. It has a variety on it and is a good choice if you are uncertain of what to try. I recommend this place and will be a returning customer.

After The Shack stopped serving breakfast, I started coming here before I go grocery shopping at the 29th & California Dillon’s. I had been looking for a breakfast burrito like the one I used to get at Burrito King in Lawrence (with refried beans, tomato, potato, egg & cheese), & Juana (the owner) custom makes my burrito for me; it’s even cheaper than what I pay in Lawrence!

This is Grandma’s cooking at its best. The lady that takes your order and cooks it is an honest gracious host. About 5 tables so arrive early for some of the best Mexican food in Topeka.
