One of my favorite bars in NYC. Quiet, cozy, great cocktail and fresh seafood every time. However, worth all the cons..?! Not sure

Very loud especially how small it is. It is a very lovely cocktail bar which I enjoyed but surprised it was Michelin star rated, since it really is a high end cocktail bar rather than a restaurant.

I love ZZ’s Clam Bar, a very tiny, very wonderful bar and rawbar / seafood place. Reservations are absolutely required, and the place is a total splurge. It functions like a speakeasy, and seats something like 12-16 people at tiny marble tables. It’s a bit like a jewel box, and it feels like something out of a different era, underscored by their vintage barware collection.

Get in there if you can book a table! What a gem! They have 4-5 tables and the menu is raw but every bit amazing! The trout roe toast tastes like a divine dish created to make people happy:):)

Disappointed. We at at ZZ’s Friday, 10/1 (only learned it was reopening night from this post), and it was probably our worst dining experience in all of our years in NYC. To say that the menu was limited is a gross exaggeration; it consisted of toast (tuna, trout roe or uni), oysters and caviar. The service was unfriendly and slow. The drinks were too strong. The oysters were nice but the Orient Pearls did not seem fresh.

This has been on my list of places to go for a while. I walked into the restaurant and was shocked of how small it was. 4 tables and some “bar seating”. I truly enjoyed the cozy setting. The downside of it being so small was there was a table next to us with a very drunk man being rude to the staff and disturbed everyone’s dinner. The drinks were great, I got the cilantro which was a perfect mix ! We ordered the roe toast which was great. The other items we ordered were also good but nothing that blew my mind. In one of our oysters we saw something moving in it. We were scared to say something as we did not want to disturb the people around us but we were totally freaked out. It was a pea crab which from what I looked up online can be common, the restaurant just didn’t catch it as they shucked the oysters. We immediately had the oysters removed from the table. If you are wondering why it’s so difficult to get into, it’s just because the space is so small. The staff was great! But to me, not worth the wait of getting a resy.

The tiniest restaurant ever. Just four tables and a couple of counter spaces. Loved this tiny raw bar. Uni toast is a must. Lobster ceviche didn’t disappoint.

ZZs is a ghost of its former self. It’s sad to see this place go downhill. The space is still wonderful but the quality of the cocktails have fallen by the wayside due to new inexperienced bartenders who have failed to maintain Thomas Waugh’s menu.

The food was absolutely delicious! One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve ever had. The flavors were out of this world.
