This is probably the busiest restaurant inside Mott street eatery. Has duck and pork hanging in the window. You can walk up and order various dim sum and the meats with rice and vegetables. Tried the roast duck roast pork and scallion chicken. Surprisingly, the pork and duck we’re not very well flavored. However, the scallion chicken was delicious. The counter was quick to order at, and our food came quickly. There’s large tables that are communal/shared inside of the eatery that you can pop down for an finish your meal.

Good BBQ pork, though it was pretty cold when they gave it to me for some reason.

After looking around the eatery and deciding what to eat, we went to the largest stall inside 98 Mott Street Eatery. They had a variety of dishes ranging from dim sum, bbq roast items, congee, rice and noodles. We decided to try their Wonton Noodles and Beef Stew with Wonton Noodles. It was a bit salty and the beef stew had very little if any beef and it was very rubbery. We came right around lunch time so they were rationing their portions… Not worth the cost.

The prawn siu mai with the chilli was so good!!! Best chilli sauce we’ve had in nyc so far. Not too sweet, spicy and with a hint of vinegar. Glad we went there and not the other higher rated dim sum restaurants nearby. The prawn siu mai was $5.50, pork was $4, for four pieces.

I hate to give a local spot a poor review, but the quality of the butchered meat was very disappointing. I got duck and roasted pork over rice. The duck wasn’t very juicy, nor was the flavor that great. The roasted pork had a crispy skin, but a lot of the pieces were just chunks of fat.

I bought 2 ribs of roast pig. Usually, they added some fatty unwanted pieces to weight. That’s understandable. However, when I’m back home. Opening it up, I don’t see the 2 ribs of roast pig. Maybe couple pieces. The rest are just the fatty unwanted pieces. I recall the image when I picked it up at the counter. I saw the guy who chopped the meat put back a large piece of roast pig back to the their tray. Very dishonest business. Don’t go there.

Do not use the hand sanitizer provided by the food court management!!! It’s cheap and smells suspicious. After I came back and washed my hands with water thoroughly, the nasty smell still lingers. I had read about substandard hand sanitizers that contain carcinogens. I hope this is not one of those. But the quality of the hand sanitizer is really bad.

I’ve had dim sum all over the world (including Hong Kong) and as a native New Yorker I’ve come to love it. The order I received from here was the best I’ve had in NYC and as good as that from any other place I’ve ever been. Those tofu skin rolls! OMG to die for!
