However, the two moved to Chicago a couple years ago, let’s call it “crazy, stupid, love” but that is where the culinary journey began…
Stefano & Melanie’s love for “setting the table” with fresh food and various wines to have friends and family over is what inspired them to create Casati’s Modern Italian. Stefano’s passion for eating like he did in Florence is the inspiration for the menu sourcing locally or importing directly from Italy to create a menu that is light, fresh, and healthy! I made reservations here. Parked about a block away due to all the spots in front that were taken. Very excellent and authentic food. I got the Ravioli stuffed with short ribs for $28. Expect to pay roughly $55 for a 16oz New York steak. Very pricey but worth it.

Tried this new spot because of their vegan options for part of our group. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice with friendly staff and a great waiter, we sat outside which was great on a nice day. Appetizers were brought out and were really good! The entrees came out and a couple of them were cold but delicious still. The portion size on one was underwhelming but the dish tasted incredible. At the end of the meal it was great but not outstanding. The temperature of the couple dishes really brought down the overall experience. Love the vegan options but consistency on portion for the price needs to be addressed. Will be back hoping for a better experience.

We had the reservation but were leading to a table by storage room and can see lots of gas tanks, while many tables are available in the prettier room. The host gave an attitude when I asked for a switch. Cocktail is good but food is just ok. The attitude of the host just doesn’t deserve the $100. Won’t visit ever again.

The parking was easy, ambience stunningly gorgeous, the staff was super friendly – Nancy was very attentive and sweet. I went for the vegan food per @plantbasedtamika recommendation and had the truffle mushroom pizza, which was delightful; greatly flavored. The drink was yummy, though I did add a dash of cranberry for a little more holiday spirit. Very festive, welcoming and warm. I will be back. I love being able to make reservations as well; though, I wish there was better direction on how to enter the restaurant – I was slightly confused by the signage.

This place is phenomenal. The food is very tasty and the service is A1, even the owners go out of their way to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. Went here with my family and had a great experience. Then the following visit I had submitted my birthday for their promotion and had a minor issue with receiving it in email which they had gone above and beyond to ensure that I was able to use the promotion. If I could give more stars I would I love this place

Food was delicious! Drinks were divine! Madison was our server and she made awesome recommendations for us! Shout out to Madison!! We had Italian Job and Adriatic Peach for drinks. Dinner was pumpkin ravioli and gnudi con Zucca. So good! Can’t wait to come back.
