I stumbled upon Blackwood BBQ by accident and I’m glad I did! I could smell the smoke from the sidewalk and I instantly knew I hit the jackpot! I grabbed a pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans, and chose the Chicago sweet and spicy as my sauce of choice. The pulled pork sandwich was meaty and oh so flavorful!!! I ordered an extra side of sauce just to dip my sandwich in!

The brisket sandwich was very good as was the Mac’n Cheese and baked beans. The staff was also extremely friendly. I see a lot of people in their reviews mention that the prices are high-ish (relative to portion of sides in particular) but, I like that with every meal purchased they provide a school lunch for food insecure children. Would definitely reccomend and come back!

Visited this place while in Chicago. So good. Meat was tender and flavorful. Homemade Mac n cheese pickles and coleslaw.

Delicious burnt ends sandwich and elote makes a perfect lunch. Jackfruit is a good BBQ alternative when you’re cutting meat from your diet. Quick, classic carve-in-front-of-you counter service makes this a great choice for lunch in the loop.

The meat is dry and cubed I cannot finish it, and the lemonade is awful taste like a dirty water taste.

It was my first time eating here and the beef Brisket was really tender and flavorful even without a sauce. They have really good options for sauces: I had Chicago (sweet and spicy) and Memphis (sweet). I chose the platter and it comes with a side of pickles and apple coleslaw which is really refreshing and light and compliments the meat well. The place is rustic vibe and very accessible if you work around the west loop area.

Thought the place was pretty good. The odd hours can make it a bit difficult to get to their place. It seems as tho they have a daily menu, which is cool. The meat if very soft and you get to choose from plenty of different sauces.

Brisket was really good especially since they asked what my preference of cut was. The cornbread always pretty spot on too.My only regret was that I got the sweet sauce. It was good but the briskets flavor seemed like it would fit better with a spicer sauce. That being said that was my own choice. Everything they did was great.

This was delicious food, hands down. Got two tacos, one chicken, one burnt ends. Awesome mix of MexBBQ for sure. Sides of gruyere mac-n-cheese and brisket beans were just what the doctor ordered. Headed for a nap now.
