Decor needs to be changed. We went here on Pride Day. The decor is so out of date but whatever. We sat down at 3:46pm and didn’t get our food until 4:54pm so 1hr and 8mins before we actually got to eat. They had 1 cook and 1 dishwasher back there. After 50mins we saw a third person in the kitchen but I think it was one of those situations where the “head cook” wanted to do it all by herself which caused everyone to wait an incredibly long time for their food. If the food wasn’t so good I’d give 1 star. I ordered Pad See Ew noodles with chicken and a Thai Tea it was delicious. The Thai Tea was ok I think the ratio of tea and milk was off but the noodles were really good. I would return but only to get takeout.

Highly recommend PS Bangkok! Incredibly fresh, affordable, and tastes homemade. The item in the first pic was the table favorite. We weren’t able to remember the name of, but if you show Sue (owner and chef) this picture she’ll know! Other items were ordered were the drunken shrimp & chicken, green and yellow curry, taro cake, and crab wontons! 10/10 recommend EVERYTHING.

The tai noodles were very good, but the dining experience was one of the worst I ever had. The owner tries to come over to your table and make small talk with you, and she ended up offending me during conversation when I told her I didn’t want to try some fish appetizer she was offering me. She stated “ if it was fried chicken then I would want it” Then she stated that she knew my date was from South India because of her skin tone. I would’ve simply walked out of the restaurant after all of these insults but my date didn’t want to stir up any drama after we already ordered. On top of that, when our egg rolls came up to our table, she stood over my plate and cut my egg roll in half with my fork. Never in my life have I ever been to a restaurant where the owner cuts mother customers food for them. I don’t start issues with people, I simply wanted to enjoy a meal with my date, but some people really don’t know how to communicate with people from other races and ethnicities. Did you know that you can have a simple conversation with someone and not bring up race at all? Simply wasn’t necessary in my opinion. Me and my date felt very disrespected and uncomfortable. I probably won’t ever eat there again despite the good Tai noodles because I value my money enough not sit in an establishment and be disrespected especially when I did nothing but exist. The owner needs a complete lesson on customer service. You can’t disrespect someone into trying your food. I don’t understand

When was the last time you ate dinner at your grandma’s house? She cooked for you, brought it to the table, and wanted to do everything she could to make sure you enjoyed her work. This experience comes pretty damn close. The food was authentic and outstanding. The presentation mattered to the staff, and the server was attentive and offered suggestions for us along the way. The atmosphere was classic, and really made the evening feel like we were not in Chicago (in a good way!). I noticed the server pause to ensure we enjoyed the first bite before walking too far away, and our reaction was genuine to the great flavors. She seemed to get a lot of joy from the work she does. Please go and enjoy their passion with them.

Usually when you go to an empty restuarant, its a bad sign. This place is real authentic with great tasting food. The owner is a very kind older woman and I would recommend going with her recommendation. I got the pad Thai and its some of the best I’ve ever had.
