Wow! I came here for the basque cheesecake- I just wish I had more room to eat it all! The chef’s selections for our meal were perfect. Each dish had its own special taste and look, which made it so enjoyable to eat every bit of every course. My top three dishes of the night: paella valenciana, endive bite, basque cheesecake.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We visited Chicago for a family vacation this past weekend and went to many restaurants, even more expensive than this one. This was, by far, the best food we had all weekend! Not only was the food, fresh, tasty and beautiful….but the service couldn’t be better! The manager seated our party of seven very promptly. We had drinks in minutes. The food came out quickly, as we ordered several courses. Our drinks were always full. There was such great attention to detail. The staff coordinated the meal in such an efficient and friendly manner. We all left full and happy and all enjoyed the beautiful meal and stellar service! Jaleo will definitely always be a part of our yearly family trips to Chicago!

Fantastic place with shareables. Went with a group of eight and everything was delicious. Most of us split pitchers of sangria. We had a great variety, including fried potatoes, tomato bread, a couple of the bikini sandwiches, asparagus, chicken croquettes, and paella. My favorites were definitely the patatas bravas and the bikini de sobrasada ibérica and my wife loved the asparagus and the bikini de jamón. The staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations and explanations. The atmosphere was cool and definitely an enjoyable experience.

Stumbled upon this place while looking to eat somewhere to Flight club. Really impressed by the decor inside. Gorgeous paintings. The menu was confusing for me, but they explained everything clearly. Have to say, the service is top notch. We ended up ordering some appetizers, tapas and cocktails. The Cono de membrillo was very interesting – what a tiny thing for 5$. The food is expensive considering the little quantity you get. Our cocktails felt diluted as well. I had the Sangria and my girl friend has the Gravity. After this we went to the lower floor and had more cocktails.

First time at this Jaleo! Wonderful! I remarked to the bartender about how wonderful the Pulpa was in DC because whole tentacles were served versus served sliced. Chicago does it sliced, I was disappointed. Ordered 3 dishes, delicious. Later the manager came to see me and mentioned he had heard about my Pulpa inquiry. He explained that Southern Spain serves it whole, northern Spain serves it sliced. In DC and Las Vegas it’s served whole, elsewhere its sliced.

I am always down for tapas style dining. We were a group of 8 and had almost 9-10 different tapas. Everything I tasted was delicious, but my absolute favorites were tapas al ajillo, Arroz a banda con gambas and Barenjenas fritas a la Malaguena. Even my tea was delicious.
