I was a regular customer to this restaurant since they opened. I had been here at least 10-12 times (both dine-in & take-out) and had all positive experiences till now. But I had a bad experience today. Ordered one each of Veg Platter, Mysore Masala Dosa & Egg Biryani to-go last evening. I didn’t open Egg Biryani last night since the other 2 items were more than enough. When I opened Egg Biryani to have lunch today, I can see chicken pieces in that. I closed the box as it is, waited until they opened in the evening & returned the box. I know the restaurant was too crowded last evening, but they must ensure the correct ordered items are packed.

After seeing more positive reviews, I wanted to try a biriyani at this restaurant and ordered 2 chicken dum biriyani to go since they didn’t have family pack. It’s way too spicy for us and no one did ask any spice levels while ordering. We have been sweating. Biriyani tasted like a chilli rice and no taste of biriyani. Chicken pieces were ok but way too much of salt. No egg. Overall nothing so impressive or worth as biriyani lover and not recommend for biriyani lovers.

We travel from Charlottesville to get some good Indian food in Richmond try this place the first time, love it so much that we stayed in Richmond three days and all three days we ate there. Staff is very friendly good environment and yummy food for a reasonable price.

We ordered Biryani, chicken noodles, and a non-vegetarian thali after reading some positive reviews about this restaurant. The Biryani was delicious, and the fried chicken pieces reminded me of delectable street food in India. I must confess that the non-vegetarian thali was exceptional, but the two vegetarian dishes, mango dal and rasam, were also delicious. The highlight of the meal was the guntur chicken curry served with two uttampams., there is room for improvement on the sweet dish served but this is the finest thali I’ve had in the United States.

Wish the dosa batter would be made better and taste more fermented. Wonder if dosa mix is used to make it. It tasted oddly sweet. Don’t care much for the tomato and peanut chutney they serve with it. Wish they would serve a great tamil coconut chutney. The potato filling of the Masala Dosa improved a bit compared to last time.
