I heard good things about Akida. I went for lunch, to find out the lunch special is underwhelming. I ended up ordering from the regular non lunch offerings. The food was good, the service was timely and pleasant. I recommend checking out Akida for yourself.

This place is wonderful. I had heard about Akida for years from family, saying they have “the best lunch deal in town.” I have yet to eat here for lunch, but I have come for dinner over a dozen times. EVERY time, the service is excellent, the food is fresh, and the ambiance can’t be beat. Akida is a great part of the Richmond restaurant scene.

What a hidden gem! The staff was kind and efficient. The menu was filled with great entree options, including combo deals which came with the best Miso soup I’ve had in a while. The food was delicious and I can’t wait to go back to try their Udon!

What a quaint little neighborhood restaurant! Huge selections of specialty rolls, plus regular full menu. Sushi was well made and was very creative. My husband is on low carb diet, he really enjoyed the Naruto Roll made with no rice. Diced Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, and Avocado were wrapped in cucumber slices, decorated with Flying Fish Roe. I ordered the Sky Roll and never had anything like it. Minced Spicy Salmon was mixed with Tempura crunch to form a square base, Rice and Spicy Tuna were in the middle, topped with Lobster Salad and Red Tobiko, drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayonnaise sauce. It was delicious!

Never disappoints. Classic sushi at fair prices (check combo 4 and 5) and excellent service in a small space. But don’t tell anyone because I like walking in and never having to wait. And get a bottle of sake for the table

Akida has been one of my favorite sushi restaurants in RVA for a reason. Recently I tried a croquet appetizer which was made with tempura. Yum.

the food and ambiance were amazing! the complimentary christmas flavored drinks on the table were a nice touch, but a bit out of place considering the season

What a great little gem in the middle of Richmond in the Devil’s Triangle. This was our first time trying Akidas. We were celebrating the end of my daughters cheerleading season and she and I tend to try new sushi places. We drove by a couple it a couple of times before we noticed it was in between a few other places. It’s not the biggest joint but it was fairly busy when we got there. We saw that the small table in the back for two. They had two waitresses working and they were very attentive. We ordered an appetizer of edamame and then for different sushi rolls. We got a yellowtail, ungai, spider and then a Manhattan roll. The food came pretty quick it look like they had to guys behind the sushi bar working. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The sushi seem to be a good quality and we were very happy with all of it. Probably the only thing I didn’t like was sitting at the little to top we are right in front of the bathroom so we can hear every flush that happened but that’s just do to it being a tiny place. I would highly recommend and I definitely would come back.

Decent sushi in Richmond. Had Pam’s roll and Jason’s roll which was good. Also got the Agedashi tofu appetizer which wasn’t good. Instead of soft tofu deep fried with a light batter, it was just cubes of fried tofu that was not fresh. (Tasted like the frozen ones)
