Popped in for a late lunch on a Saturday. Was still fairly busy, but was seated straight away. Started with the loaded fries, which were pretty good. Could have used a little more cheese sauce, as there wasn’t enough to get the bacon to stick to them, leaving me scrounging around picking up those magical morsels. The bacon itself was pretty amazing. Instead of being sliced and crumbled, it was more of a lardon presentation. Intensely smoky, and crisp on the outside, but still tender inside. I could’ve eaten just a bowl of that and been supremely happy. Moving on to the Smashpocalypse Burger….two smashed patties with onion, pickle, white bbq and manchego. The meat was cooked perfectly, with lots of lacy crispy edges (meat candy), perfectly toasted buns, and the manchego was an interesting touch that I really enjoyed. The white bbq didn’t really bring much to the table, though. Washed it all down with their Apocalypse Burger Beer, a kölsch that is apparently brewed especially for them by Bier Brewery, keeping it local. In all, it was a great experience, and I look forward to returning the next time I find myself in the area.

The service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. This was our first time coming here and I will say I will be going back sometime because the burger was so good. The fries were also really good. My friends got the ding dong cake and they said that tasted pretty good too

The Dining Grandpa
Stopped by the Apocalypse Burger for lunch this afternoon with my lovely wife. The restaurant is located at 49th and Pennsylvania Avenue. There are three restaurants at the same location, so parking is tough. You have to jockey for a place on the street, so this could be an issue for the hungry. The wife had the Smashburger with fries and I had the Plain Jane burger with fries also. We got an order of onion rings to share, which were actually onion straws. The location and decor are slightly upscale, but the food is ordinary. We liked our burgers and the food was OK. But there’s just nothing that we ordered on the menu that stands out, that would make you come back. The prices were spot on, slightly more than $31 for our meal. And that included a Coke for me and a Root Beer Float for her. The wife loved her Root Beer Float. And I had a sip of the root beer, which was very good. Triple X root beer, which apparently can be obtained across the street at Sullivans hardware. Which will be our next stop when leaving here. All in all we have mixed feelings about this place. Just Soso.

Joe was an outstanding server. It was our first time here. He was very attentive, yet not intrusive, and extremely helpful in assisting with menu decisions and very polite. The burger and sauce in which he recommended, was superb!

I’ve been here three times and each time I come the food it’s that great. I keep giving it more chances but I feel like I shouldn’t anymore. I didn’t realize the eggs came over east that’s my fault it busted all over my burger so I asked for it to be remade offering to pay for the second burger aswell as the first one. The second one came out with yolk between the Patties. I’m not sure why the cook would do that seeing I was already grossed out by the first one and had the egg removed. That’s so gross. Sadly I live close by and this place has a lot of potential to be great but this was just not acceptable for me. My boyfriends Blt was hard enough that if I threw it it would crack a window. He said the rest was good. The server was very very nice and accommodating to me wanting my food remade. The two restaurants across the street are amazing it shocks me they have the same owner

First, delicious. Nothing too fancy, no weird toppings or eyebrow raising items, just classic combinations done well. A really excellent smash burger at a really excellent price.

The food we had was tasty. Chicken was perfect, burger was great, fries weren’t the best, but onion rings are the super thin cut ones which were very good and not too salty. You don’t get too much, the portions are about average bordering on skimpy, but thing that got us was the price! Although the food is good, it’s not worth what you pay for it. You can go get better for less anywhere around the Ripple area. Don’t think I’ll be back to this one. Oh, also the service is quite nice and professional, too.
