grab your banh mi & hit the beach! these are the perfect take out sandwiches. i ordered the lemongrass king oyster (vegan) banh mi. extra cilantro of course. the mushrooms were delicious and very filling. definitely missed out on cucumber —heavy on raw onion. overall, a solid sammy.

My first time in Chicago and I want to visit their version of little Saigon. I wanted to taste their version of banh mi. I ordered the dac biet. Dac Biet means “special” right? This sandwich is far from special; 2 slices of some sort of canned ham, 2 slices of steamed pork, and where’s the paté? Instead of an aioli, I believe it was “Best Foods” mayonnaise that they used. I definitely won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Ba Le Sandwiches is always a Must when in the area. We have been coming here for years…longer than I can remember. We love the Bahn Mi Sandwiches and everything they have to offer. We can never just order 1 Sandwich, so we always get some to take home. I always recommend.

Back when Ba Le was just a hole in the wall, it was great. My family and I frequented this place every time we were in Vietnamese town. Now that they’ve grown and are “trendy,” the quality has declined. My last visit here a few weeks ago, I had gotten some sandwiches to take back home with me (as I’ve done countless number of times since I have a two hour drive), so I requested that the veggies be put on the side. I got my order and noticed that there wasn’t a bag of veggies in there, so I let one of the employees know. He took my bag of sandwiches, and when he gave it back to me, I found an open bag veggies in there like they just threw it in there and didn’t even bother to tie it. I’m glad I checked, or else that would’ve spilled all over my sandwiches. Smdh.
