GLUTEN-FREE BISCUITS! OMG, this place is amazing! We were already stuffed from lunch but passed by here and knew we needed to try. Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit must be a staple here in Charleston because a bunch of stores sell their biscuit mix! This place has got to have some of the best biscuits you will try anywhere. SO MANY options, from sweet to savory! You can even create your own biscuit however you’d like with whatever toppings you want (or make it into a sandwich) – let your imagination run wild! Since it was our first visit and we were already full, we just got a gluten-free biscuit to try with cinnamon butter. The gluten-free biscuit was literally better than most place’s normal biscuits…if that doesn’t say anything, I don’t know what will! And the cinnamon butter was AMAZING! Just try this place if you’re contemplating. You don’t have to get a lot – just get a small biscuit and try with cinnamon butter or another topping. You’ll enjoy it!!

Biscuits were good but my one main complaint is the chicken. They advertised a “fried chicken” biscuit and sold it for $14. I watched the employee take some frozen chicken out of a box store branded bag and put it in the oven. The chicken was not fried and was terrible, not worth the price. Stick with the regular biscuits and jam.

Was not expecting for the biscuits to be that big and fluffy. The bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was great! Don’t worry if you don’t like the biscuit options, you can build your own biscuit too!

This is a good option whether you want to keep a meal on the lighter side or go full indulgence. There are sweet and savory options which are pretty quickly served up in a very busy location. It gets crowded since it’s located inside the market and you need to stand to the side until your order is ready. They have some merchandise for purchase, a lot of which is the same stuff you’ll find throughout several of the market shops.

Biscuits were very good tasting. The location is also very good right in the market. Unfortunately, the service was subpar. The gentleman at the counter, ivory. Was not very nice – no “southern charm”

UPDATE: Someone from Callie’s reached out after we had a negative experience and did everything they could to make it right! Definitely recommend trying their Charleston location.

I was not aware of the hype surrounding Callie’s before we visited Charleston, I just love biscuits and my daughter and I were walking through the market. A bouncy lady next to me in line told me that it was THE Callie taking my order or else I would have never known. Callie was just so sweet, like all of the staff, and very helpful in going over the varieties that were laid out nicely on the counter. I chose two savory and they were good but my god, the blackberry shortcake one was the best! I was so sad when I finished it. They are not traditional biscuits in that they are smaller and more dense and crumbly but the ingredients were so well incorporated into the dough that every bite was just as good as the one before. I’ll stop back tomorrow before we fly out to pick up some dry mixes and I’ll try to recreate the magic at home.
