At our Ashland, VA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I absolutely love the fish tender! I order the kids meal! It’s just the right amount for me! Always made to your order. It is piping hot almost everytime. You may have to wait 5 minutes while they cook your order, but it is so worth the wait!

I use drive tru and speaker has been impossible for years. Food is decreasing in flavor & quality in the BURG. LOBSTER ROLL IS SLAPPED ON A ROLL. THE ICED TEA IS SWEETER THAN OTHER TIMES, SERVICE IS OK DEPENDING W H O IS WORKING. THE ONE IN Ashland Va. Is better food & service.

Ordered the 20 piece butterfly shrimp dinner with an additional 5 shrimp for 1.99. When the food arrived, the plate looked light so I asked the server about the 5 additional shrimp I ordered. He told me they were on the plate and kind of dismissed me. At the end of the meal I realized that not only did I not get my 5 extra shrimp I paid for but I didn’t even get the 20 I started with. Out of the 25 shrimp I was supposed to get I only received 17. I can see making a mistake of a couple here and there but not that many. That was 1/3 of my order. I’ve been going to this one for a while but this was a ripoff. They should be ashamed.

Food is always great! Service could have been better. Lady that took our order was clearly irritated with our questions and seemed impatient. Women’s bathroom was leaking from ceiling, which shut one of the 2 stalls down, but entire floor was wet/slippery. Which was tracked through back side of restaurant. Just be cautious!

We always order butterfly shrimp, fish or oysters, when in season. The food is cooked and served satisfactorily, keeping in mind that this is a “fast food chain ” restaurant. The one thing we find continuingly problematic is paying for our order with more than one gift card. Employees have not been properly trained in the correct cash register sequence and getting the register to accept payment can be challenging.

I use to love coming here but now every time I come their messing up our order, I doubled asked for cheese on my sandwich to make sure she heard me and she said “GOT IT” and when I got my food surprisingly there was no cheese it I’m done eating there

The food was pretty good I can’t complain there . Service definitely could use some improvement. The man taking our order was rushing thru the order and in doing so took off parts of our order, forgot our cheesecake ( he did catch it and yelled for us to come back thankfully) never put the strawberry sauce in the bag. We had a pretty big order ( almost $100) and were very aware that we would probably need to be parked but weren’t. Some of these minor mistakes could have been prevented by parking us and taking your time to get the order together, which would have been completely understandable, my mother and I both work in restaurant settings and would have completely underst
