At our Posen, IL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Today was a disappointing experience I have purchased the lobster roll several times and it’s been on point today I have it delivered verses goin in my self. Very disappointed it was very cold and the bread was hard.. hate I can’t go up there I’m at work so I’m stuck with hard rolls which are cold and hot shrimp happy the flavor of the meat is good or this would have been even more bad.. yes I’ll go again but now I don’t trust delivery even more

I’m so happy that I now have Captain D’s near me … They have this restaurant back home and it’s my family’s favorite fish place in the whole world! The service and food was great cooked when ordered. Found out it was near me today and went today! Lol Thank you!

Order catfish ,fried okra and fries and add 5 piece shrimp and got hushpuppies. Took extra 20 minutes for online order and gave me the wrong order. Horrible paid 15.00 for 2 strips of suppose to be catfish . Fries and okra were cold best and shrimp look like bite size shrimp only like the hush puppies . Waste of money. Will not every go Captain D again

My husband and I passed the restaurant on our way home. We decided to go back, because the only Captain D’s we know are in the South. We asked how long they’d been open, and they said 2 years. As soon as we came in, we were greeted by the cashier and the cook. Felt nice to have customer service. We explained that we had to try it since we loved the one in the South. So he said that means you know what you want. I definitely did!! I love their fish sandwiches. The fillets come on a buttery bun, and are way over the bun itself. It was so hot, and delicious. I tried the fried okra, and they were pretty good. Also tried the cheesecake, which was from the Cheesecake factory, my first experience. It was decent, but my daughter’s is way better! The funnel sticks were good, but my husband was looking for dipping sauce. I’d definitely recommend the restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food was served in a timely fashion. It was very hot and good! You should for sure check them out!!
