I worked in the downtown area for decades. Christopher’s Runaway Gourmay was the favorite go-to place for Tarragon chicken salad, fruit, and cheese. It was great to visit last month and enjoy again their “Trademark” lunch; same great taste, and by today’s standards, it is reasonably priced. Thank you, Christopher, for remaining the same when everything around us is changing!

I’m very disappointed after years of purchasing lunch. I purchased from 8th&Main today. The price has skyrocketed, and I received less food. I paid for an extra wedge of cheese, which I didn’t receive. In the past, I could stretch one meal from this cart to 2. I barely had enough to eat lunch. Wow, just wow! Everything changes, but not for the good.

I ate here for lunch today and I always make a little chicken salad sandwich with the cheese and some fruit thrown in there. My dad’s band has been playing at Chris’s Halloween party almost every year since I was a kid and Chris always caters it himself. I remember getting plate after plate of chicken salad and pasta and having such a fun time, so getting to eat it for lunch is extremely nostalgic and wonderful. I always go up to the observation deck at city hall and enjoy my meal, so now I have a new little tradition to remember that part of my childhood. Definitely would recommend, it is probably the best chicken salad in Richmond.
