In my trip to Montgomery this was the most satisfying and best experience. The staff was so nice and the owner is passionate about what she offers. The food was very flavorful and delightful. This is something different and worthwhile to make time to try. You will not find anything comparable in a chain of the big breakfast places or as much care as they have in their food. Felt so welcome and open to explain the menu.

This is the second time I’ve visited this establishment and it never fails to impress. The owner is a gem and brings all her dishes to life with the love and care taught to her by her mother in Venezuela. The cuisine is “family style” and the owner ensures every guest feels like just that — family. The food is excellent and the ambiance and atmosphere create a level of comfort and ease that you truly feel like you’re part of the owner’s family come over for dinner. Simply fabulous!

My son’s girlfriend and I take our daily 3-4 mile walks and then look for a healthy choice for breakfast or lunch. Today we found this wonderful little Venezuelan Breakfast spot in Montgomery Alabama. The atmosphere is so cozy and there were a lot of military service members patronizing. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. We didn’t eat much because we splurged a little but it was worth it. We selected the chicken and spinach Crazy Egg Benedict. It was so flavorful, it didn’t need anything. They also have a breakfast bar you can order from with many different selections. We will be trying that next time. Apparently, they offer reservations for dinner on Friday nights with different Latin themes. It is truly a gem of Montgomery.

D’Road is a lovely Venezuelan cafe. The staff is nice, the environment is cozy and the food is delicious. I have had the pleasure of experiencing breakfast and dinner, dinner is reservation only. There is a new theme for dinner every week and it is always a good meal.

A lovely surprise on my last day in Montgomery – a friendly, easy-going Venezuelan restaurant in the heart of downtown. The savory breakfast made for a delicious start to the day (along with strong coffee), and the music is great to groove to while you’re enjoying your meal.

The lady that talked to me made me feel like I was in school and she was that sweet old lunch lady. I was new here and was unsure if we were allowed to get the drinks in the back (which I saw other customers get). The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the décor was nice. The bathroom was interesting, you have to push the door to open it.

Often heard of never had until recently. The brunch was astounding. As expected I didn’t know what to expect with Venezuelan food, let alone brunch. I fell in love off the bat with the sunrise arepa and then loved the cachito. I sampled the cachapas which were great and also tried out the chicken empanada and the empanada criollo. Needless to say I was stuffed. The food kept coming as we tried different dishes and treated it like a tapas place almost. Can’t wait to try the lunch and dinner. The lady who brought our food can be my abuela. Live music was great, be sure to tip!

I originally went here when they were on Atlanta Hwy about 7 years ago and always loved the food. I recently moved back to town and am so thrilled to see that D’Road moved downtown. I had lunch there today and the food is even better than I remember. The flavors are so unique and the staff is so warm and attentive. D’Road is truly one of Montgomery’s best.

Moved downtown last year and was so lucky to discover this place. The food is beyond great and Janet always makes me feel like a son anytime I come in there. I’m a big fan of the Arepas, especially the breakfast arepa, she knows exactly how I like it every time, nothing beats the way those flavors meld together, the cheese, the onions, the eggs, the ham, and the brisket (can’t forget the peppers if you love a kick). There’s nothing else like it anywhere! Also the Cachapas is another good selection, like picture a handmade McGriddle but the size of pancakes with layers of brisket and cheese in between. I literally could keep going, but just go and try it! You will be just as hooked as I am on her food.
