Wonderful little place. The food is from the middle European area, Hungarian, Transylvanian, Polish, Czech Republic. I’m of Hungarian descent and I had the Stuffed Cabbage and it smelled & Tasted just like my mom’s. The portions are huge, you will not leave hungry and the Husband/Wife team that own and operate the restaurant are wonderful…..I highly recommend it. Very small but Cozy atmosphere, only 24 seats but it is well worth it…..

OMG! I had stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes. It was sooooo good that I had to eat it slowly to just enjoy all those exploding flavors! The “dishwasher” was our waiter and was very kind. The chef was a sweet woman who was so kind to us. Please do come and check them out! The dining area is small which makes it more special.

This place is the real deal!!! We started out with home made tomato soup with hot fresh bread follows by the main course. We had the lamb shwarma and the micci which was romanian sausage with a side of mashed potatoes. I highly recommend the micci. How could sausage be so good? Try it and see. We followed dinner with an espresso and a cream filled pastry. It was so good that we even got one to go. The owners are very friendly and they cook and serve the food. Amazing little down home place. You will not be dissappointed. The pics look amazing, don’t they?

My first time ever tasting hungarian goulash, and wow it was delicious! And we also had the puff pastry with meat and that was delicious too! Everything tasted homemade and felt like they made the food with so much love and care. The lady who cooked the food also gave us a free dessert because she didn’t want us to leave without tasting sweets! She was super sweet to do that for us! And wow the dessert she gave us was delicious- never tasted anything like it too! I learned that it’s called cremesh and got a little lesson from her husband about how it’s a common sweet throughout many countries. 11/10 would come here again and experience new foods!

Having not had Romanian food for more than 2 decades, decided to drive to Richmond with my best friend (Japanese / Peruvian) and let him see how tasty and awesome Romanian food can be. Drove 2.5 hours from Gainesville, VA based on previous online reviews to experience Romanian food and atmosphere, and it was like “ca la bunica de la tzara acasa”, so glad I made the drive, it was like traveling back in time sitting around the stove with my grand parents and waiting for delicacies to be put on the table. What an awesome dining experience. Ciorba de burta, mici si Sarmale cu mamaliga si smintina, langosh, and Napoleon cream cake as well as Romanian beer. The host grandpa “Puiu” took us back in time as it was when I grew up in communist Romania in the 80s, the food was just as great as my grandma used to make it.10 for Romanian food authenticity and atmosphere. highly recommend this restaurant and the people that own it, they made my party feel very welcome and the long drive was surely worth it. Will be back again soon, can’t wait. A truly unique gem of a restaurant, can’t say enough about it, and look forward to trying out the other European dishes on the menu.

I don’t recommend this restaurant. The food was not good. To get to the bathroom, you have to walk through the kitchen and storage area. Then when I asked for a box to bring my left overs home for my chickens, I was given a paper bag. Before I got in my car the dressing on my pita was seeping through the bag.

Best mashed potatoes ever and loved the goulash. I thought the chicken paprikash was a little thin but still good. The place is tiny, may be able to seat 20 people total and we found people friendly and chatty. Will be going back
