Chefs table at Fond was the highlight of our trip. Chef Jojo and his team were so welcoming, it felt like dinner with family. It was an amazing experience to watch someone so passionate about what they’re serving, plate everything in front of you.

Chef Vasquez closes the restaurant Sunday evening for a 10-12 person chef’s counter meal during which he takes guests on a journey through the why (and how) of seasonal, skillfully prepared dishes. At $140/person as of March 2023 (with $40 optional wine pairing), it was reasonable for the experience and a 3-hour meal we really enjoyed. Describing the dishes almost doesn’t seem fair since each menu is only around for two months. That said, the coconut tamarind scallops were AMAZING in case you happen to read this in March or April. I’ve already bookmarked a return for next year.

We came for the food/chef, which was fantastic. My wife had the fried chicken and I had the sirloin. The sirloin was my favorite meal on Maui. Just go and get it.

The very moment I walked in the staff was helpful and polite, even sweet and friendly. They have a lounge to wait for your take out that is both comfortable and classy. Next time I will dine in! Great job!

Family friendly, casual, and good portion sizes. I recommend the PLT lettuce wraps. Very flavourful. The tsunami bowl is like a poke bowl which was only okay. Cheesecake was okay, but it seemed like it was missing some kind of fruit flavoured colour and sauce.

We went for the chef’s counter small group tasting menu, and it was well worth it. Beautiful food presented in a very friendly and intimate atmosphere. All of the food was good, but the seared scallops in a coconut tamarind sauce was off the hook. Chef Jojo is clearly as passionate about taking care of his neighborhood and community as he is about his cooking. Looking forward to going back here for the normal menu.

We stumbled upon Fond as we were looking for a lunch spot on our way back to our resort and I am so glad we came here!! The PLT wrap was a delicious starter – pork was so good. We each got a bento box – my husband got the chicken box and I got the shrimp! Soo good! Great value and delicious food, one of favorite places so far on our trip to Maui! The chef was kind too!

We went to Jo Jo’s chefs dinner Sunday night. It was fantastic, 6 courses, high quality ingredients, in an intimate setting with like minded foodies! An amazing dining experience. Jo Jo’s wife, Eliza, might almost outshine the food, she is personable and creates an amazing atmosphere. We then went back to Fond for 3 more meals throughout the week, because there were so many items on the menu we wanted to try. Fond was consistently the best food we found on the island, with bonkers low prices. Fresh ingredients, and something for everyone. Cancel all those reservations at the tourist traps on the beach, this is the place to eat!!

This was on Eater’s list of best restaurants in Maui, and I can see why! A nice mix of local flavors & upscale twists in a charming but unassuming strip mall location in Nāpili, this place had delicious bento, poke, fish, and more. The only person who didn’t like their meal was my son, since their chicken tenders were just a tad too spicy for him (I thought they were delicious, but I can see why they might be a bit much for a kid who likes things more bland).

We always have a great experience and awesome food every time we eat here. The maui cattle ribeye is my go to with the best garlic fried rice. The burgers are also amazing along with the seafood tsunami. Definitely a place to try with friends and family.
