I had heard a lot about this place so I finally made time to stop in. I ordered a blockbuster sub and I enjoyed it. The price was reasonable. I think that from all the hype, I was expecting something really special, but it ended up being just a high-quality sandwich. I still would highly recommend this place for a great sandwich, but don’t expect anything life-changing.

“Welcome to your new addiction,” said the woman behind the counter. And she was absolutely right! I has the 6inch blockbuster with hot giardinara – delicious cuts, fresh ingredients, perfectly textured bread, a yummy worth-the-messiness treat! The spot is unassuming (quiet music, open space, no fuss tables and chairs) and easy to miss, but paired with speedy, very kind service make this spot a true hidden gem. I’m glad I asked for a punchcard on my way out – I’ll be coming back!

My first time here was back in 2013 when I was going to UIC. This place forever changed my standard on what an authentic Italian sub should taste like. Always fresh ingredients, the consistency has been incredible. I’ve never had a bad sandwich from here! My favorite has always been the blockbuster, today I went for a simple ham and turkey but also outstanding as always! 100% recommend

Off the beaten trail, but definitely worth the hike. Not glamorous on the inside, but that’s ok. The employees were efficient and there was a steady stream of patrons while we were eating (2pm – that’s after the typical lunch hour!). The cold subs are massive and delicious, can easily split with another person. It’s a solid cold sub, that’s the end of it.
