About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

I understand that deep dish pizza has grease. This is not grease. Due to the “freshness of the toppings” and its also “tomato juice”. I’m still gonna eat it because I’m hungry and I have paper towels, but this does not look like tomato juice.

The pizza was juicy/watery and topping totally retracted from crust. The sausage and pizza sauce were bland. Crust was undone. Disappointed because this is not a normal Lou Malnati. My husband loves pizza and he was disappointed too.

It was a fair experience! We ordered spinach cheese pizza which had a fair taste! I was expecting more than that to be honest!

I had placed a order for pickup over the phone. Upon pick up our order was not processed. The owner said he will make our order for us asap. We waited for 10 minutes and when we tried to pay he wouldn’t let us and gave the pizza for free. That was very nice of him and much appreciated. Pizza was delicious of course. We will be back.

This place had been very consistent. But my last experience was terrible. We waited until 7:35 for food that was supposed to be done by 6:50. I work in foodservice so so get that things happen. But while waiting for service, there were literally 4-5 people standing behind the counter doing nothing to help customers.

The girl at the counter was so helpful! I needed custom pizza at the certain time, but could not do the pickup, so not only she did my order exactly, she gave me great advice about reheating. Thank you so much, I would recommend you to everyone! 5 stars indeed!

New to area and ordered from this location for first time. Confirmation was for 6:30pm pickup. At 6:50 had to ask staff the status of our order. Was told they gave our pizza to another customer and they could make another but it would be ready in 25 minutes. That was the best they could offer. I cancelled my order and was told it would take 5 business days to get the refund. Overall a poor customer service experience x2 since they also messed up another order. Poor training and management.

I ordered two pizzas and pasta for pickup. I arrived five minutes after my scheduled pickup time and my pizzas were ready, but they forgot my pasta. I was told it would be five minutes, but waited over ten minutes for the pasta while my pizzas got cold. After getting the pasta I was not offered any kind of discount or compensation for having to wait extra for pasta that was forgotten. The food is great, but customer service definitely needs worked on.
