Visited on a Saturday evening and we were seated right away. We were given chickpeas and warm pita for the table )chickpeas were delicious). My husband and I ordered the avoglemono soup which was also hot and delicious. My son ordered the kids Mac and cheese(which was obviously Kraft Mac and cheese from a box). My husband also ordered the pastistio- the meat was delicious! The only issue we had with the food was that pastitsio was burnt on the bottom- pretty charred in fact. Our second gripe is that our server did not seem like she wanted to be there which is unfortunate because there is so much potential here.

I was expecting “Greek Food ” from the name of the place but the food and prices are similar to another diner located a block away. I went here on a Monday night around 8 pm and there were plenty of empty tables. The service was ok, two men were serving and doing everything else without a smile is possibly one negative about the place.

they delivered a “roumanian” style steak that was absolutely disgusting! overcooked beyond eating ! was so bad i put it in a food processor to shred it just so my dog could chew it ! whoever cooked it should be fired !!

My husband and I love their gyros platter. Huge portions. I asked for their yummy lemon potatoes instead of fries and they gave it to me. Been here 3 times since moving back to Long Island from Maryland. My husband never tasted awesome gyros like Greek Island. We like it here, I was reading some reviews, the owners are hard working men, they do everything, I mean cut them a break. We usually get them to smile but I get it, their tired, hot, and running all over. I got them some slack. I do agree though that instead of news on TV play some Greek music. Change the atmosphere to more upbeat. My only criticism but not a complaint because we love the food here.

Called to find out what the gyro platter included and was told meat, rice, pita and 2 sides. I ordered 1 to be delivered…was told about an hour for delivery…took over 1 1/2 hrs! No rice and the 2 greek salads as sides were in the same tin. Some of the meat was charred and could not eat it. Not a great portion size and no rice! When I called to tell them, the girl said it didn’t come with rice! Was not impressed and would not order from them again!!
