We dined at Himalayan Kitchen last week during our recent visit to Durango, CO. They have a short menu of a few selective dishes, but basically covers every type of food from meat to vegetarian and vegan. We ordered Annapurna Tofu and Vegetable Curry. They dishes were very similar to home cooked meal rather than typical restaurant food- unbelievably better than what I have tasted at typical Indian restaurants in the USA. Preparing vegetarian dishes is significantly harder than preparing meat or fish. That tells me that their meat dishes will be equally good. My overall ranking of 5 star on a scale of 5 is probably inaccurate; I must rank it as 5++ stars on a scale of 5.

One of the best Indian Nepali restaurant I found in mountain. They have lots of options to eat and specially for the vegetarians. I like their dal bhaat dish. Their staff is super friendly. They also have some indian drink options as well. Highly recommend this if you are visiting Durango

We ordered Door Dash from this restaurant and couldn’t eat the food. The rice is plain white rice that was stuck together, the moderately spicy shrimp was so hot we couldn’t eat it and the bell pepper was much closer to raw than cooked. We took three bites and threw it in the trash. In addition, the restaurant did not send eating utensils, salt or pepper, soy or even a napkin.

Amazing food. Good service. Unfortunately if you have respiratory problems you may not like this mildew infested place. The air is so thick that if you have lung problems you’ll feel horrible days following. Otherwise great

We’re visiting Durango and this restaurant sounded interesting. Walk in and you’re hit with amazing aromas. Makes you even hungrier. Lots of choices from the menu. We started off with chicken dumplings. Wherever we get dumplings, we usually get a soy sauce based dip, but their dip is curry based. It wasn’t very spicy and it was good. We both ordered Tikka Masala as our entrees. It was great! Rice was cooked just right. Naan bread…just love naan bread. Should have gotten more to go. Staff was very friendly. After dinner, we enjoyed the sunset. Just beautiful. Highly recommended this restaurant.
