Holloway’s Bar is an homage to our city’s rich history as the candy capital of the world. Since the late 1800s, Chicago – and the River North area in particular – has been a dynamic hub for the Windy City’s sweetest industry. A key member of this confectionary revolution was Milton J. Holloway, who discovered the candy business with a small sum of cash and a big American dream. He bought F. Hoffman & Company, the original producer of a chocolate-covered caramel treat called a Milk Dud – named so for its amorphous shape. We’re here to celebrate your own imperfections.

Stopped in for a bite to eat and a few drinks with my mom before turning in for the night. The bartender matt was super attentive and suggested the prickly pear. They were so good that I ended up getting two. We also got the bbq sliders, grilled cheese sliders, cob salad and the Carmel cookie. Everything came out in a timely fashion and had so much flavor. Would definitely recommend.
