First time eating at this location and we were quite pleased. Our server was very enthusiastic and polite. The food was fresh and flavorful. I chose to combine all of the seasonings/sauces for my boil. It was a flavor bomb! If you’re into soups, you must try the Lobster Bisque!!! It was absolutely delicious and probably one of the best I’ve had, EVER! The only thing that would need improvement is their boil bags which leaked a little. Other than that it was a nice atmosphere and very clean. We’ll be back!

This was our first time here and it was absolutely amazing. We did the all you can eat option and had snow and Dungeness crab legs in each of the sauces. I also ordered some of the most amazing and ridiculously large shrimp I’ve had before.

Here is a in depth review of the new restaurant to the Forest Hill area, The Hook and Reel. They have been opened for about a month now so they are very new to the community and we encourage you to go try it out for yourself. The location was easy to find and the overall cleanliness and layout of the restaurant was perfect. The service and ease of placing our order was good and our server helped with any questions we had. We got the hush puppies and mozzarella sticks for the appetizers and for the entree we order the wing basket, shrimp basket, the large catch and the chicken po’boy and the chicken finger basket. Overall the food was fresh and hot and the seafood was fresh and clean however it just lacked flavor across all dishes. Lacking flavor could potentially be a good problem to have. In the event the flavor profile across all dishes becomes more developed and exciting then you will really have a solid restaurant on your hands Richmond! We enjoyed the fact that the servers and cooks were open to feedback and suggestions which to us showed accountability and willingness to to grow. Go give them a try and be sure to like this review if it helped!

This place was so nice. They have karaoke every Thursday! I came in with the older crowd but trust me when I say they know how to have a good time! I’d give them 5 stars but they took a little longer at the bar. They may need more bartenders if their going to be that busy. Drinks were great! Love that they aren’t expensive and decorate them so nicely.

Unplanned visit and it was a great surprise! I am not a chain restaurant person, but I really enjoyed the experience. Food was fantastic (mini shrimp boil, hush puppies) and I enjoyed the fun presentation. Relaxing. Good service. Nice manager who talked to us.

I’ve been waiting for this restaurant to open since I saw the signs go up. I just so happen to be at the hair salon across the street and saw that it had opened. I asked my hair dresser if she had tasted it and she said she had, it was good and suggested the crabcake meal.

False advertising with all you can eat options. Did not get service until 20 minutes after arrival and was told we could not get it since it was after 9pm at that point. The manager explained but not really as to why it’s still advertised but not provided. By that point we were hungry and over it. I wish I didn’t order a drink or we would have just walked out. Would not recommended.

Went to Hook and Reel with not the highest expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Not many people dining in. Food was great and server was very nice and helpful. Looks like they have good happy hour deals, and when we went (not HH) bottled beers were only $3.50!
