This was the first time I had the opportunity to try jianbing which I have seen so many times on YouTube videos, so I was super excited! It tasted so much better than I thought it would! The green onions baked in the dough egg mixture was so good! I highly recommend getting it spicy which isn’t even that hot, just tastes good. I can’t wait to go back.

I haven’t been to the French market in years and based on a recommendation, I tried China’s most popular street food, Joan bing. It’s a crêpe with egg, scallions, sesame seeds, spicy bean paste, lettuce and a crispy wonton “cracker”. It’s so good! Delicious layers of flavor and texture. I love the softness of the crepe with the crunch of the wonton and lettuce. Looking forward to coming back and trying different options!

I’ve had Jian Bing many times, they probably use old oil to fry the jian bing, it tastes old. Also the bacon is over cooked as well. The sauce they use is also not authentic.

Flavour was good but not as authentic as some other jian bing places. The crepe, fried crisp and sauce were great, but they put lettuce instead of scallion and cilantro in it, which was a big miss.

Finally, after watching how JIAN Bings are made, I got to taste one! Delicious! I had the spicy spam (lunch meat) JIAN bing. Although there was only one other customer there and I had to wait, (he was ordering several JIAN bings) it was worth the wait. Definitely I will return even though I’m a Uptowner. It was that good!
