Prior to today I’ve been in this shop one time and the owner seems to be a good guy. Today my experience was very combative when trying to verify/discuss a pricing discrepancy. I ended up paying $14 for an advertised $8 sandwich and it wasn’t even good. Google seems to have a different menu for the establishment and when I was charged differently than what I saw online I was cut off once he felt he heard what he needed to hear Vs allowing his customer that chose to spend their hard earned money w him speak entirely and come to the proper understanding. I am a New Yorker as well so I understand aggression /directness- so I won’t accept that as being an excuse to be disregarding to a customer concern. Sometimes people just need to be heard so they know they’re truly understood. I guess that’s beneath him. It isn’t to us in Harlem.

Stopped in after going to a museum. I haven’t had good NY Pizza Pie since the island. It was a little bit smaller than a traditional slice from the island but the taste was pretty good. I would highly recommend if you are craving a NY Pie or a slice. Picture does it no justice.

Very much New York pizza shop vibe AND PIZZA at JoJo’s. I really like the store that opened closer to home in Midlothian, but this downtown spot is spot-on with the crust and toppings. If you need oregano, ask at the counter. Anchovies available!

Simple and Good, as it should be. 2 slices and a drink combo is the way to go! I try to come here once a week. The owner is cool AF and not some knock off New Yorker you see at other NY style Pizza joints. There’s an oversaturation of “””New York Style Pizza””” from places that have no business advertising as such… This place is the only legit NY style pizza in RVA.

The pizza is good, but make sure they run your card WHEN YOU PLACE THE ORDER. They were 30 minutes late delivering the pizza to a work function. The medical staff only have a fixed amount of time for lunch so it was a disaster. They waited until the pizza was already supposed to have been delivered (which means they were already late) before they tried to run the card and had a problem. If you are ordering for a work function, I recommend somewhere more reliable.

As I work in downtown Richmond, I have been coming to Jo-Jo’s for years. I’m also from NY. Best pizza in Richmond hands down…. And get the cookies also! Awesome. My friends and family who visit from NY always insist on having Jo-Jo’s. Also people who visit from other states. 5 stars PLUS. Great people.
