Great location. Decent vibe with a DJ. Cool ambiance. The rooftop was nice. No umbrellas to keep you shaded. No TVs either in the event you wanted to watch a game at the bar on the roof.

I’ve been to Juan’s two times already (one for dinner and one for brunch) and have to say the food is out of this world. It’s so tasty, portions are huge which justifies the price of their dishes, and service is great.

Well first I would like to say Management was amazing when it came to handling our issues. The waitress hygiene was very disturbing that’s the polite way for me to put it. The drinks were okay my wife had a frozen strawberry margarita that she could only get with well tequila for some reason. We ordered three appetizers the fresh guacamole that was supposed to be made table side but wasn’t and it was extremely salty, the fundido(queso) definitely wasn’t what we were expecting but the manager explained to us they make it the “traditional” way, I wanted the seafood empanadas but they had ran out it wasn’t even 7pm yet so I ended up getting the sweet chili wings that were actually the best thing I ate. We then ordered two entrees the pancho carnitas that was fried pork it was tough and bland and the dish itself did not look appetizing. I ordered the shrimp tacos that came with a creamy jalapeño coleslaw cause I figured how could mess that up?! Wrong the coleslaw and the tacos were bland and as I got to the second taco it started tasting weird as if the shrimp may have been bad but that’ll be a find out later thing. All in all this could be a great place with a little work especially on the food.

Overall good experience, I took my friend who was visiting from out of town and we ordered the seafood empanadas which is my favorite, the tomahawk steak which needed some more seasoning & salt. The regular ceviche which was good. My friend had the nachos, which was good, large size. The kids had regular chicken nuggets and fries. I wanted the fried oysters taco, but they didnt have any. Also we were so excited about the sushi selection but they didnt have any We asked for a few Jalapeños they brought a bowl full of jalapeños enough to last few weeks and were charged $4.00 which honestly was excessive. We understand that there is a sticker with a warning stating we are going go be charge for everything extra but the size and price was excessive! We asked for a cup of Guac and same thing we received a whole bowl to feed a family of 8. The drinks were good, just disappointing that they didnt have any sushi. I dont think its good customer service for the extra charges for everything you ask for, we were scared to ask for extra napkins because we might get charged.

Food was bomb, server was cute and nice, I got a great value and as a Latina person I was pleased with the quality. I got chicken taquitos with rice and beans, great choice. My friend had seafood empanadas which were BIG! She loved it. Server also recommended the tropical ceviche as most popular. She gave great recommendation. The vibe was right before it got too loud for me at 9 or so. We needed that fresh rooftop air in this hot July heat! My friends went back already a week later. It might be our new happy hour spot!

This is a really cool place to check out. I was so disappointed with the service. We sat down around 940pm and nobody acknowledged us. After 10pm I went to the bar and asked for the manager. While waiting for the manager, the table behind us got served and they came 15 minutes after us. A nice friendly waitress finally took our order. We had our first round of cocktails and put in an order for guacamole. The cocktails were really good and the guac was amazing! We wanted to order more food, but the kitchen closed at 1030pm. It would have been nice to be informed of that when we were ordering our guac. Our second round of drinks, tasted like they forgot the alcohol. It was really sweet and no tang . We were ready to check out and our lovely waitress offered us complimentary shots.

I was disappointed with my experience at the Juan’s. While the ambiance and drinks were good, the food was subpar. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that messes up queso like this one did. It looked like it came straight out of a microwave oven and was as runny as milk and tasted disgusting. The corn on the cob was another disappointment, the sauce it was slathered in wasn’t appealing. The fish tacos were bland and lacked any flavor. The quesadilla had a literal ton of cheese dumped in it, which was overwhelming.

We came in for Taco Tuesday and stayed for the awesome bartender with the cool mustache, Mitch! The guacamole was the best I’ve had in Richmond. The specials were well priced and decor is also super cute. I’m probably gonna be a regular.
