I came to this place as I found myself in the area and wanted to know what it was all about. The environment is warm and inviting with low ambiance lighting. The service and attention were excellent. I ordered two empanadas and the chicken pesto panini. La empanada de carne was great, the jamón con queso not so much. To me, the star of these two empanadas was the sauce that came with it. I want to say that the sauce was the star of the whole experience here. The pesto chicken sandwich was good but not outstanding. The sandwich needed more flavor, and I hoped the a special taste would arrive as I took more bites, but I didn’t. The potatoes were potatoes… nothing special about how they were seasoned.

Great place to go on a nice night without a doubt the very friendly staff all very clean up decorated even there’s a Christmas tree. The empanadas I recommend eating all the ***** fantastic **** pizza will certainly return for them again rich a mass other than I am used to eating, acceptable desserts ***. All that you see in account for two people is too much I recommend going 3 or 4 people.

Food is delicious, service very friendly and restaurant is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed their patio space (and it was rainy). Prices are fair; portions are generous. It is a nice place to go with friends or family. We easily found parking on the street.

La Nonna is an Avondale neighborhood gem! Our favorite is the chicken burger which comes with Turkey bacon, avocado, mayo, lettuce and tomato. It also comes with a side of fresh fries. This Argentinian family spot also has other delish dishes like the Chopan sandwich, omelettes and empanadas. They are never crowded when we go and although quaint, it’s a very welcoming vibe. It’s a must try if you’re on the north side near Avondale/ Logan Square neighborhoods.
