Delicious low-key Chinese. The atmosphere and the kitchen gave NYC vibes. Waiting might vary between 20-60 minutes according to your arrival. The good thing is that You can even order your food beforehand.

Honestly one of the best places I have ever eaten. Lao Peng You is quaint and unassuming with a simple inside. The food; however, is out of this world.

I had high hopes, but the pork and chives dumplings didn’t quite meet my expectations. The broth was overly salty, not to my liking. The portion size felt a bit small considering the price. On the bright side, the service was good. To avoid waiting, I recommend arriving before 5 pm.

They’re a lot of small Chinese restaurants in most cities, so when you find a unique one it’s worth a shout out. Lao Peng You is such a place. It’s a tiny storefront with a menu focused on homemade dumplings and noodles. The pork and chive dumplings are crave worthy and the dan dan noodles are some of the best I’ve ever had! You can grab a table or take out, but either way…give them a visit. They’re BYOB if you want, but the milk tea goes well with the spices. YUM!

The food at this place is awesome. It’s authentic and elevated Chinese food like I’ve never had. The beef noodle soup and the pork/chive dumplings are phenomenal. The cong you bing comes out crispy and delicious. The place is a bit small so get there early or you’ll have to wait.

I wanted to try this place after seeing it in The Bear. The place was pretty small and there was a bit of a wait to get a table, but the wait wasn’t that long. It was pretty loud and it was a kinda difficult to hear the servers over the music and other patrons.

Finally had a chance to try Lao Peng You, and it did not disappoint. I tried the beef noodles, which were flavorful. The noodles were not overcooked and the meat was tender. The milk tea was very good as well. The green onion bread lacked flavor, but was nice and crispy. I would try I different bread next time. We arrived an hour after opening and there was already an hour wait. No reservations but you can put your name on the list and come back when the table is ready. The place is small with only a handful of tables but service is quick.

This place was incredible. The food was so delicious. We loved it so much! I would order everything! I’m sure it’s all delicious. We obviously couldn’t order it all, it was just the two of us. Keep in mind this place does NOT take reservations. You need to go in and put your name on a list if there aren’t seats available when you walk in and they will text you when your seat is available. We didn’t know and tried to go the day before we actually got to eat there and there was no room left on the list one hour before their closing time. So, go in and put your name down and head to a bar down the street for bevies and be patient. The food is worth the wait. Also, it’s BYOB and there is a Mariano’s across the street. We went there got stuff to make mimosas and had mimosas with our lunch. The staff was very friendly! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

The food was incredible! Very authentic Chinese dishes and sides! The beef shank noodles was the right level of spicy, and peppercorny (peppercorn gave the numbing experience)!
