Lawrence’s has been a staple for years and we were recently in the area so we decided to stop and get some fish. Everything is still good and hot! The prices have gone up and the amount of food that you get is less, the main reason that I am giving them four stars. The coconut shrimp were HUGE and flavorful. There were six in a half pound order. The catfish strips were good as well and we got about 12 in a pound order. We dined in the outside patio area which my wife and I were trying to remember what was there before, definitely it was nice place to eat. Made us remember when we lived in Hyde Park before moving to the burbs, we will be coming back more frequently!

Love this place been coming here for 30 years, usially get the jumbo shrimp, but the wing zings (chicken wings) are FIRE, their homemade cocktail sauce and hot sauce are some of the best sauces I’ve ever had, I will continue to go to this place,

Straight up, the coconut shrimp was FIRE, however, it took strangely long to get my food and I got the wrong order, didn’t find it till I drove away. Went back and got the right order, one bite of that cat fish, ugh, it was foul. Moved to the shrimp, fire, so moral of the story, order ahead, don’t get the catfish, GRUB IN THE SHRIMP!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere very clean and open space. The service was amazing Don the cashier took time and went over the menu by it being my first time going. The Shrimp was delicious the calamari cooked to perfection, The catfish was not good tasted fishy best way I could describe it. SHRIMP ON POINT

Great for a quick bite while I’m out with family. I prefer the fish and chips., My wife gets the half pound friend shrimp. I get the kids meal whenever I have my grandkids or nieces and nephews with me. Great view of the city skyline on the bridges on Canal street at night. Always a diverse range of customers when ordering. A true city gem been going for years and looking forward to having my grandkids take me for a ride when they get older.

I cannot say enough good about Lawrence Fish. Been coming here since I was a kid and I can confidently say the quality has always been the same. The food is always fresh and the staff is always super nice. I tell everyone to check them out and it’s always been a hit. The fish sandwich has always been my go to. You won’t find it better anywhere else!

Large Shrimp was okay but did not meet expectations. The breading used is like a thicker battering and was surprisingly less than expected quality as far as the taste. The portion was meager and for the 26 dollars spent I was still hungry when I left. Service was quick and easy.

So i finally made it out to this iconic seafood stand in the South area near Chinatown. The place was very modern for being established 7 decades ago. If you really luv fried seafood, this is for you. Everything I ordered was very good, but my palette got “bored” with the mono-chromatic taste of breading. Having said that though, I would urge to add other non-fried textures when you take it to-go. One other thing, read carefully on the menu fish chips. Its fish nuggets and there are NO FRIES. My quick glance read it as “fish & chips”; but the “&” is missing. Its ok but I felt bamboozled!
