Just a random stop a couple of miles off the highway. We were looking hard for a non-chain, non fast-food breakfast. Super nice waitress and very good home cooked breakfast (for the same price you pay at McD’s). Met all of our hopes and expectations while tired and hungry on a long road trip.

Great local spot for breakfast open to close or a meat and three for lunch.

The food was great. The service was acceptable. The restaurant is in am older building which could use some renovations. This is not a place to sit for a long time. The food and the prices made this a good dining experience.

Our waitress was wonderful. The seating was a bit too close to a strangers table for my liking. The food (breakfast) was not good. It was not fresh made from scratch. The scrambled eggs had a gone bad flavor and the veggies in the hash browns were raw. Everything came out barely warm or room temp. Biscuts were hard and not fresh. We won’t be going back. On the plus side the catfish fillet and fried eggs were good and the pancakes were big and fluffy.

It’s hit or miss. I ordered stewed tomatoes on grits and got tomato soup/paste. The drive-thru staff is so nice though. No manager available when I called back. Also, if using CC there’s an additional charge that they don’t tell you about. I inquired about signage and said it was ordered but no signage still.

My husband and I stopped here on our road trip from Charleston to Columbia. It had gotten a decent amount of positive reviews and we were definitely in the mood for breakfast. Upon entering Mama’s Kountry Kooking we were greeted and told to sit wherever we like. Service was very friendly and prompt. The coffee was strong and served in a nice thick walled mug. There was not a ton of healthy options on the menu but they were very flexible and allowing me to substitute sliced tomatoes out for potatoes. Breakfast was well-cooked, tasty, and of a decent portion. The price couldn’t be beat. A great place for breakfast that is obviously frequent head by the locals. We definitely be back if we’re ever in the neighborhood again.

Not the best curb appeal but the food was delicious like highly exceeded my expectations! Somebody is back there cooking with love frfr! I was so hungry I didn’t even take pictures this time. I had two eggs over medium with cheese grits, liver pudding, toast, hash browns and French toast. Everyone was so friendly and they let you sit anywhere pretty much anywhere. You can tell this is a staple in town by all the people arriving as I was leaving. Apparently I beat the morning crowd which is just fine. Just in case anyone is wondering they accept cash and cards including Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.

Took a long time to get an order of chicken fingers and a hot dog. The hot dog bun was soaking in water. The “chili” on top was just ground beef. The fries and chicken breading were unseasoned.
