I am so glad I came back to an old favorite last night! It was my husband’s first time there and I was nervous because he really like Italian food and has high/Chicago standards. We wre both extremely impressed! We both ordered lobster bisque soup and Karen’s Pasta with garlic knots. All were amazing! I have never seen my husband take home leftovers from a restaurant, but last night neither of us could finish. Lucky us! He was also shocked by how low the bill was! Extremely good value for our money. The service was outstanding as well. The young wait staff was very friendly and efficient. They seemed to be working as a team took care of us and the rest of the room together. We never had to wait for anything. At least 2 said “good night and thank you” on our way out. Great experience overall! Karen, any chance you might offer a pasta alternative such as zucchini or broccoli? We’d make the 45 minute drive much more often!

Being from the Chicago area and having all styles of Pizza – this is ABSOLUTELY the best. Not to mention the service – Jessica was awesome. Others in our group had the pasta and salads and they loved those as well. Definitely found a gem!!!

It was good but they did put two pieces of pepperoni on my pizza for some reason. I guess just to keep track of what side was which. Of course I could tell which side had ingredients and which side was just cheese pretty easily. I ordered online and it said 45 minutes, but judging by the temperature of the pie I should have picked it up earlier than that. A little pricey but I enjoyed it.

We had a great time at Marcellas! Ambiance was fun but not cluttered or tacky. The food is great. I do wish that they had gluten free pasta, the pasta dishes looked amazing. However they did have gluten-free pizza. The kids love their cheese sticks and the garlic knots. The service was awesome everybody was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back here.

I ordered the Italian beef sandwich with mozzarella cheese and it comes with French fries. There was a good amount of beef on a good sized bun. However, the beef had no taste whatsoever and the mozzarella cheese was so skimpy I couldn’t find it. My husband ordered the half order of pasta Alfredo with shrimp. He said it was good and the portion size was correct for half order. However, it was supposed to come with soup and bread. He got the bread but did not get the soup. Also, no utensils, no napkins, and no condiments, (salt, ketchup for the French fries) so if you plan on eating in the park or the car and you order a lunch to go, better be sure to ask for the items that would allow you to be able to eat the food. The order was ready at the promised time so one star for that, and one star for the pasta tasting good. The food was not worth the price we were charged.
