My first time in the market, we usually get the fresh pasta and days when they’re at the farmers market. Which are incredible by the way.

This was legit the best Italian hoagie (the Soprano) I’ve found in Richmond. My brother got the Italian pork and broc rabe (the Balboa) and said it was the best he’s had ever. Highly recommend this shop and all their creations. The caprese focaccia bread is also amazing with a side of marina. Can’t wait to frequent this place!

Heard a lot positive reviews about the sandwiches here and was finally able to visit and was not disappointed! After looking over the menu many times before visiting I decided to go with the Grinder and hands down was the best one I’ve had in Richmond. They ran out of the normal bread they use so it was a nice treat to have it on focaccia, so I’ll be going back and trying it with the normal bread if I decide to not get the chicken cutlet! Coolers were stocked with homemade pasta and sauces that I’d love to check out as well. Wish I lived closer!

I got the Soprano. I rarely leave reviews but this sandwich was absolutely killer. I don’t think I’ve had an Italian this good. I also met the owner and he’s a super friendly and great to talk with. Will now be one of my Richmond recommendation spots for sure!

My partner and I shared the Italian grinder and the Soprano. We loved them both but the favorite was definitely the soprano. It’s by far the best Italian sandwich in Richmond and maybe even one of the best I’ve ever had. After moving from a city that had many italian shops, we were left a little dissatisfied from spots in VA. But now we are so stoked we’ve found Polpetti.

The Soprano Rocks! My wife had the Caputo. She loved it as much as I loved the Soprano. The couple who runs Polpetti really takes pride in their food.

This is it. This is the sandwich shop for me. I’m going to eat here every week until my veins collapse from sodium intake. This family knows hoagies and cares about them on a spiritual level. I purchased two sandwiches today. I will eat the second tomorrow for breakfast and then go here for lunch again. Gods help me and gods bless Polpetti Italian.

I’ve lived in NY for years, and I’ve had a number of authentic subs and Italian sandwiches before.
