I had steak tacos and fries. Overall the food was pretty good, I just would’ve preferred the tortilla and fries a little less oily ..other than that service good, food was hot and the setting was also pretty cozy.

After several years, I recently visited Triple Crown with my family for DimSum, but unfortunately, I was not impressed with the experience.

For dinner, I decided to have steak tacos with a side of fries. In general, the food was quite enjoyable, although I would have liked the tortilla and fries to be slightly less oily. However, the service was good, the food was served hot, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy.

When I was younger, neighborhoods all over Chicago had small stores with some sort of food deli or something in it. Small and adorable. Nothing fancy and perfect for that 4 block radius it represented. Then I assume all the owners died out and those cute corner buildings with the door facing the corner, became someone’s apartment and it was never the same again. Except it seems that this place is a holdout or a perfect throwback to how Chicago used to be. Small community eateries and it’s done well. I want to go back soon, it was that good.

This is a family owned place but the taste and price are both excellent.

I can’t say enough good things about Mary’s. I absolutely love this place. They have the best al pastor and chorizo tacos I’ve had in the city. In addition, the sopes are to die for. There are plenty of good taco places in and around Chicago, but this is my favorite and anytime I am anywhere near Mary’s I make it a point to stop in and satisfy my cravings. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a treat.

I came because someone said. It was nearby. I only tried their tacos. Sorry I wasn’t impressed. Usually, places like this have good tacos, Mary’s seem to have groceries mixed with restaurant in small area, one of my tacos tasted like coffee.
