The Mayflower Chinese restaurant in Chicago’s Chinatown looks like it would have good food because when you walk in the door you see a lot of local Chinese people eating there. The only thing is they have fish tanks right by the door and they are dirty and smelly. Also, the food is lacking in seasoning and the servers were very rude. The decor is very old dirty and outdated. I would not recommend this place. The price is what the quality food are. If the health inspector were to come here they would probably be very surprised.

I had diarrhoea thereafter uncooked steamed prawn rice stick, Stale yam crocket, stale glutinous rice, stale siew loong pau and stale pork soya wraps. Rude stewards demanded tips.

I only ordered one dish, so take my review with a grain of salt. Positives: I got the AA Choy which tasted good–garlicky and not too salty, and it came with rice. They were cooked to a perfect texture. The portion size was big; one container was filled to the brim with vegetables, and the other filled to the brim with rice. The service was also pretty fast.

If you see all Chinese/asian people sitting in this restaurant, then it must be good. Really good food!!! Wonder why only 3.3 stars.

We were sitting there enjoying our meal until a cockroach walked across the counter. And the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned yet this year. It’s mid September. The live fish tank was foul and there was too many fish in the decorative tank. Then the ahole had the audacity to ask for a tip. The tip of the ice burg was finding an empty Cognac bottle under our table

Located in Chicago Chinatown, mayflower is a restaurant that serves solid dim sum. I went around lunch time on a Sunday, and it was busy. The establishment was filled with locals, and it was loud as people were conversing over the food. There are too many dishes to go over, but here are 3 things that were good during this visit:

The rudeness and smoggy faces of the waiters forced us to pay 18% of tips in which in our opinion they only deserve $5. The pork flour tasted uncooked and was not addressed appropriately. Highly not recommended if anyone wants to stop by and take a quick bite of ‘authentic dim sum’

DO order dim sum. DO NOT order beef chow fun. Their dim sum is fine and the price is decent! But the beef chow fun I ordered tasted so bland, I guess they didn’t put enough soy sauce.

Myself and my companion (both African American Women of younger appearance) asked for a place to eat so we could get Validation for the Chinatown Parking Lot at the end of Wentworth ($3/3 hrs with, $8/hr without) & next door to K-Pop Store was suggested. We went to May Flower and were told “5 Minutes”.
