Came here for a birthday party, reserved our own room! Private room was decorated with traditional decor and screens. Sat on the floor but had a hole underneath the table to dangle your feet so it was still very comfortable. Food was amazing! Veggies, salad, and soup for everyone included. Sushi was incredible, very fresh and plated well. Lots of japanese dishes and drink options. However, service was very slow and we were waiting almost 45 mins for the check after we finished eating. Would love to come back for the ambience and sushi!

I had an incredible meal here for Father’s day with my family. The chicken donburi was so comforting. Great miso and teriyaki. Definitely check out one of the private tatami tables for a super cool experience.

We ordered takeout for 4 and it was great! I felt like the prices were more fair than some other places I’ve been recently. The food was all delicious! The tempura was crispy and perfect and everyone loved it. I had some beef, and it was expertly marinated and tasted delicious. I would like to dine here because the restaurant looks fun and authentic.

North side institution for many years, Chef Roberto’s place has produced consistently solid dishes. While many would go for sushi or maki, their entrees are also quite good. Offering sake, beer as well as margaritas is a nice added bonus.

The staff at Midori are kind, thoughtful and very helpful. The menu has many great sushi options as well as soups, teriyaki, and other traditional cooked dishes. For larger groups, the small rooms offer a quiet and private space. Be prepared that it can be hard for older people or those with physical limitations to get in the private rooms that have low tables but leg room underneath.

Hot towel to clean your hands was a nice treat! Portions were big. Staff was very attentive. They have regular table seating but they also have special rooms that allow you to sit on the floor (or modified so you are more comfortable but still on the floor) like traditional Japanese sitting.

A hidden gem in the north park- Peterson park area. Small only 9 tables but have a floor sit down area for over 5 people parties, giving you the full experience of a Japanese restaurant. The waitresses are dressed as geishas, a very nice touch to the experience. The food might take a few extra minutes when the restaurant is busy but it is worth it. Only thing I didn’t like was the soup that is served before the main course like, I think they used tofu instead of meat, which resulted in a very weird taste of the soup. It is reasonably priced and family friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area looking for good food.

For the cooked food we ordered (katsudon and udon), it was too salty for our taste. Sushi had too much wasabi on it that took away the fresh fish flavor. This is probably more catered to the American taste type of restaurant than the more traditional Japanese ones.
