What a cool place!!! Tiny little no frills place where the owner does the cooking and does he ever do a good job! Also could tell they have a good following just based on how many people walked in while I was there. Had the steak sandwich and it was delicious and the fries were perfect!!! This will be a go to spot for me from now on!

Well I got to say this is an institutional neighborhood joint that serves great fast food . They have great steak sandwiches,great shihskabobs sandwiches,great burgers, outstanding fresh cut fries. You know when you see city workers,police officers,lines out the door and the smell of smoke and food filling the air for blocks you have arrived at Mr.D’s shihskabobs man Mike his wife and son have been serving the community for over 30 years with consistency. Put this place on your bucket list. It’s that good.

Been going to this Spot since I was in High School early 92… place is Phenomenal, the food Is great! Had Mike wanted to Go bigger he would’ve been A big Player in the the Food Industry! I can’t speak enough good things about this place! The food Is all amazing from the burgers to the Kbobs… and That famous Steak Sangwich!!! Yummy. I may just go there next week again!

This small mom & pop place has been here for many years. They do have limited hours, but so worth the stop. The food is so good. Homemade cut fries not frozen.Take out or stay. Like I said, small, maybe 5 or 6 tables. BRING CASH!

The stars of the show here are the steak sandwich and the fries. Incredible char flavor on the steak. Most people get their steak sandwiches with the grilled onions but I am not an onion guy. The hot dog was also pretty darn tasty. Both the flavor of the dog and fries makes this better than Gene and Jude’s in River Grove (Yeah, I said it). Mr. D’s is a Montclare institution for a reason.
