It’s amazing what Chef / Owner Rina can produce from such a small kitchen. She’s a whirlwind. Along with her partner, Luke, they’ve built one of the best restaurants in the Norfolk area. Don’t be dissuaded by the small and unlikely location. I visited one Friday evening on a last minute whim and without a reservation had to wait for a seat at the bar which also serves as the chef’s table. I was greeted by Luke who found me a seat in which to enjoy a cocktail and appetizer as I waited for the bar. He’s a friendly, knowledgeable host clearly concerned with his guest’s wellbeing. The drink list is varied and upscale. The menu provides a larger than expected, seasonal variety of French inspired dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. I started with a seared scallop appetizer that definitely reminded me of spring. I’ve not had a better scallop. The entree was the typical bouillabaisse I was craving and a testament to Rina’s skill. Sitting at the chef’s table, I watched her add each ingredient to the pan at slightly different times in order to ensure each seafood component was perfectly cooked. It was an impressive achievement for a one-person kitchen. Rounding out the meal was a delicious butterscotch bread pudding. I’d highly recommend this little restaurant and will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. Reservations are available on OpenTable. Note: they are moving to a new and larger location in the Spring of 2018 so be sure to verify the address before you visit.

Came here on date night and absolutely loved the food and staff. We had the pork belly for starters – which I can’t recommend enough. Then the pasta dish (Bolognese?) + mussels. We were full because the food is well portioned but we couldn’t help but order dessert as well. The crème brûlée was our favorite. Lastly, shoutout to Luke for great restaurant recommendations for the rest of our vacation!

My wife and I were actually lost when we found this place. Riding in circles trying to find the hospital. Glad we did. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. Definitely another hidden gem in the city.

Service is exellent . Need to do a reservation and make sure is gonna be early than later. Our food was to a four * but that don’t mean the other things in the menu are the same also our taste it is different from their menu. They need more vegetable dishes at least 4 more since they have the ingredients. Amazing people that work there always on point with everything.

This place is GREAT!! My wife had the fried chicken and I had the carbonara…both were AMAZING!!! My hat off to the chef…the service is great as well. If you’re around Colley in Norfolk and want a fantastic dining experience…go to NOUVELLE!!
